3 inch, have set of boxster red 4 pots hopefully goin on behind them.

how you adapt the Porsche brakes will also affect the track width so is another variable to add to the list!

was just going to mill down the disk/drum fitment too act as a hub, then attach disc tha way.

If you don't thin the old drum/disc, that will give about a 6mm increase in track per side.. I presume you are using new Porsche drilled discs to machine down? I don't think stock ones have enough meat on them for 5 stud hubs.. I used some MBT hubs for my conversion.. Oh, are you usign stock front wings too?

yeah stock front wings, as for the disks/drums, was gonna get machine 7 style ones- (not redrilled, but in porsche pattern) and turn them down on the lathe.

right:
from most bugs I think you can use a 7" wheel with 40mm offset so will use that as a 'limit'

Offset = Backspace - (Rim Width ÷ 2) = 114.3mm - 101.6 = 12.7mm offset, that's not a lot with 4 1/2" backspacing!

For an 8" wheel on stock front end you will need 52.7mm offset:
start with 12.7mm
gain 1 1/2" from narrowed beam = 38.1mm
lose 6mm from disc width

that gives you: 12.7+38.1-6=44.8mm

Sorry, not looking good, it also depends on what tyres you use.. Having 8" wheels up front under stock wings will also greatly limit your turning circle unless you heavily modify the inner wings...
