hi

im having a bit trouble with my porsche fitment wheels

there 7.5 x 17",i was told before i bought the wheels 23et rear fits straight on and 52et fronts will fit with kerscher slimline struts although i might need a 10mm spacer.

my mates doing the same set up with teledials so today hes fitting it all up and doesnt fit the way we thought

rears seem ok at 23et but fronts ive got 20mm worth of spacers to miss the strut with the 52et wheel and there would be no way its gonna fit under the wing(fender) its sticking out say 25mm past, ive not got tyres fitted yet looked like 23et would fit on front with no spacer but again sticks out past wing, only way i can see a 52et fitting is by using around 25mm spacer,

anyone help? whos running cup wheels and what ets? spacers? etc

thanks

TopLine, a US product, says one can achieve a 17x7 wheel with approximately a 55mm offset under a stock wing with their MaXX struts. It seems the extra half-inch wheel width with which you are dealing is the difference. The picture they have at their site shows little wiggle room.

I don't know if you can find a similar wheel with a slight change in offset and even if you can, what other implications may appear. Maybe there is a 17x7 option for the front if you want to stay with stock wings. I'm at a loss for other suggestions.

do you know the overall diameter of the Maxx struts? i thought they would be the same as the kerscher 1 but if maxx say a 7 et 55 will fit im not sure they are,if 7s fit under with maxx id say 1/2" sticking out the fender should be ok (i hope)but ive payed a lot of money for the wheels, tyres, kerschers and discs im a bit gutted at the mo
think ill start pm ing everyone running cup wheels :D

I know I was as thorough as thorough can be but issues do come to the fore. It can be frustrating. There's no way to avoid it unless you are a total copycat or choose to avoid everything.

Suspension, brakes, wheels and tires were the elements of my first "phase." It is the one area I went the most over-budget. In the (near) end, I was 97% successful and found it 100% rewarding.

Hang in there.

I am planning to run 7.5" ET65 on the front running thin struts. I did a mock up and from memory I was looking at no spacer or maybe a small spacer. This contradicts what you've found, so I hope haven't made an error. I was looking at running stretched narrower tires, with maybe some arch fowling issues, but clearing the strut wasn't a problem.

i spoke with a company in the uk that sells discs etc for porsche set up not sure if i can say there name on here anyway guy said they should fit and i might need a 10mm spacer, all i can do is wait on the kerschers and discs coming and try them on my car,but on my mates same 1302 his being a 70 to mine 72 it didnt seem to fit
a 65 et and it fitted? strange how i had problems with a 52 then

is yours a 1302 chris? what set up are you using for struts and discs etc?

Yeah, it is strange... I will be running Porsche 993 rear disks and calipers on a modified Porsche 944 hub with beetle stub axle. However I did a mockup on Beetle disks. Struts will be some H&R items or some I made myself, both using narrow springs. Its a 1973 1303, running late style suspension.
