i got mine at the thing shop http://www.thethingshop.com/
i think mine were $90 shipped, and they came quickly. the shop seems like they're really on top of things, no pun intended.

if by "them" you mean the thing shop, i highly recommend them because they seem to try really hard to make their customers happy.

yes i mean i might go with the thing shop but can the conversion drive flanges that convert type 1 irs to 930 cvs be used to make my irs trans accept my 944 axles ? like these ones http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4463&osCsid=512238fbb5ca8e34f1ee05aa66d30e7c

i don't know anything about 930 axles, but i'm going to use the thing outputs with my 944 axles, which are both 100mm.

if the porche 944 cvs are 100mm and the type 2 are 100mm couldent i just use a output flange that adapts the type2 cv to the type 1 tranny something like this? http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=4079&osCsid=512238fbb5ca8e34f1ee05aa66d30e7c

Hi everybody
You couldnt use 944 T with typ 1 or other VW CV joints. They have 33 splines and the 944 T driveshaft have 25 splines. I made the mistake myself and had to buy another pair of drive shafts:mad: from a 944N/A. The 944N/A have 33 splines and could be used to any 33 splines VW CV. Both have the same lenght 52cm.
The 944T driveshaft would be a good choise if you use a Porsche gearbox. I will save my Turbo shafts until then :D .

just as a piece of info , i was told by a reputable vw tuner to leave type 1 cv's on a irs box output as a weak point , 20 mins to replace as opposed to sending the weak link into the box itself diffs etc and gears are far more expensive and time consuming to replace , makes perfect sense to me .

Hi
I would a agree with that. I broke a Quaife output shaft, the Kombi CVs were fine, no damage to them at all, it was my fault that it broke, but CVs would have been easier to fix.

How many broken Bug CVs will it take to change your opinion?
