Okay, in further investigation I am kind of rethinking my "ideal" suspension setup. Please let me know what you all think.

Front:
- KYB GR-2 shocks
- Stock torsion bars
- 3/4" sway bar
- Dropped spindles
- 944 brakes

Rear:
- KYB GR-2 shocks
- 28mm torsion bars
- 3/4" sway bar
- 944 rear arms and brakes

All urethane bushings where it is possible.

The big change is really the 28mm rear bars. Seems like a lot of people have been happy with them on the track.

Also the GR-2 shocks all around. Seems a bit soft, but the suspension should be doing the work, not the shocks beating you to death. I could be wrong here...

Thanks,

I feel the GR2's in the rear or my super can be a little soft and with not enough dampening under higher speed uneven (up and down) roads. i get a wollowing up and down sensation from the back. Although i am running some large wheels in the rear (245/45 R17 tires on 17/ 8.5" wheels) so that can make the shocks less effective.
So personaly im looking for alternatives.

Super VW, what torsion bars are you running in the rear?

I used to run a '69 Beetle with GR-2 front and Gas-A-Just rear. The rear was hard on minor bumps but would squat on hard turns. IMO pointing to a soft torsion bar.

Im running 26mm bars out back. I could be wrong on the shocks... but this is just what i feel it may be. i have yet to investigate.

Thanks for the info Super!

If you have the 26mm rear bars then I guess the GR-2s could be weak then :(

I guess the rear Gas-A-Just might be the way to roll.
