What size tubing do the five-bar braces usually come with? whats the outside diameter, "O.D."? What tube wall thickness? are they made of 6061-T6 Aluminum? and last question why aluminum and not steel is it becuase of the weight differeance?

i going to make my own torque brace becuase I'm going to go with coilovers in the rear becuase im planning on moving my 915 up a couple inches to make room for the subaru wrx engine but i need to know what kind of tubing i should use for the brace any info will be appreciated-thanks

27mm OD, 3.5mm wall. Aluminum because of weight, and if installed correctly all the forces are axial along the tube, so it's plenty strong. The thick wall allows cutting a thread directly into the tube without any tube adaptors.

If you made it out of steel, you could go alot thinner on the wall thickness. Maybe 1" OD with .065 wall, but you'd have to weld in tube adaptors for the thread:

thanks for the reply Lanner. i have ordered some clevises both left and right hand threaded. as well as some 1'' o.d. .25''wall 6061 t6 aluminum that im going to tap to 5/8th -18. from what i have seen i think it will be strong enough.
