Hello folks!
Have started a build thread in a norwegian vw forum:http://www.vwnorge.no/index.php/topic,2089.0.html

Im using all of Martins conversion parts for this project. so feel free to comment.

All the text in that forum is in norwegian, but i think you wil understand the pictures. I can comment and clarify things in here.

I also have a suggestion for improovment of the front traverse for Martin:
Remove the flimsy wedges and machine the traverse to take up the offset angle.

Great thread!
Did you know that when early 911s are upgraded to G50 they use the later centre section of the torsion housing as it is thinned out and has a bit of a forward bend in it?

Hi

I see you got your sway bar OK, wish I could read Norwegian, but cool VWs translate into any language.

I am very interested in knowing more about the rear suspension on that car. Coilovers with threaded bodies?!

Please advise.

Yep. the threaded part make it height adjustable. I think all coilover suspension is made like that. That is kind of the reason for the coilovers.
Trailing arms are Porsche 944 and uniball setup made by me.

Here is a easy fix for the t-1 throwout bearing in the 915 box.
Flip the fork and use your dremel to make it work nice. (just small adjustments)
And use the guide tube that Martin supply or make your own.
I made mine. 30 minutes on a turning lathe.

By how much did you move the gearbox/engine forward?
And how much space is there between the engine and the rear bodywork right now?

Btw. what kind of coilovers are those?
Is the lower mounting eye offset from the centerline of the coilover?

Im not sure how much it moved fwd, but i turned the rear cradle around and removed half of the torosion pipe. my guess is about 30-35mm

Im not sure if the bodywork goes on again. but Martins setup is suppose to lower the engine by some mm's and that should make it clear the wings by a few mm.

The coilovers is GAZ adjustable. mountig eye is in normal position
