Question for a friend?

I have a friend who came up with a good question and I was wondering if
someone may have done it?

He asked me if I had ever heard of someone taking a 914 and stripping it down to the pan and mounting a Beetle body on it?

the 914 has no pan, its unibody
This doesnt make it impossible, just more trouble than its worth

It's been done...Nordstart (sp?) beetle....factory prototype. 2 were made, one I know is in the UK. Even better was that it was made from a 914-6. I have a feature in a volksworld mag, just have to dig through the crates...
