To start off I am new to German Look and an extremely happy that you were able to fix the spamer problems. I just got on summer break from right state and would like to start building a Karmann Ghia. I just plan to get an ej2.2 for now, I am pretty broke. I have been searching every day for a week or so and was trying to figure out how to rebuild my stock irs box to easily handle the 140~160hp? I saw a few threads once but cant seem to find them again. So what all do I need to do, beside run into a good deal on a porsche transmission, thanks for any help/ advice.
If you couldnt tell that I am on summer break I spelled the name of my school wrong, Wright State, but as spelled above right state. Man

Being 'broke' and all, what does your budget allow for this trans swap/rebuild?

I will have 800 for a transmission and brakes soon hopefully.

Slightly off-topic, but what brake setup were you planning to run?

I was hoping to pull the brakes off of an early Porsche 944. Ran into one not to long ago for a sweet deal but didn't have the money, for $250 I could have had it all. $300 and I could pull rear torsion and trailing arms.

$550 for the early 944 brakes and rear trailing arms and such?

Actually only about 300 total, 350 tops. So do you know any good information about stock transmissions, or a good deal on a porsche transmission?
