The new (used) coilovers where in. I just had to try.
This needs some mods. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126224.jpg small cage steps. The cage will be welded to the body, this way it can be separated from the pan. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126225.jpg http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126226.jpg http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126227.jpg Paul. |

Can I suggest starting the A-pillar bar farther forward? Having it that far back makes it kind of in the way getting in and out of the car. I just hate banging into my car with my feet!
Just my $.02:) A Pillar base A Pillar base Jason |

Any suggestion is welcome. I am building a cage similar to what Jim Smith made. (Cotsweld race cars) http://cotsweld.co.uk/album/cotsweld...age/index.html Paul. |
Time to start on the fire wall, not my favorite job but it has to be done.
The fire wall will sit 6cm higher as original, so I cut 6cm of the top. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126273.jpg Because of the innerwings I have to make it wider as well http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126272.jpg We're getting there. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126271.jpg Paul. |
I need a pair of these, to mount my coilovers to the alu trailing arms.

Love the new frame horns. That is what I am doing with my Manx STi because I have to clear the 930 transmission. Very nice build, thanks for the photo inspirations!

To follow the rules while building my cage I had to place the seats first.
First I slammed the original seatframe. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126665.jpg After that I mounted the 914 frame on top. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126666.jpg Next step was placing the seat. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126667.jpg Now the 914 and original frame can move foreward to have enough access to the rearseat. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126664.jpg Paul. |
Both seats are in. doesn't look like much. But this has cost me several hours. The original frames are slammed, narrowed, shortened and placed in a differend angle. just for the eye, I closed the side of the frames.

I've bin doing small stuff while I'm waiting for the cage material to come in. Today I have bin modeling the door gab. Due to an accident in the past, the door didn't line up like I want it to do.
Start up the grinder again. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126953.jpg After some hammering. http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/126954.jpg Paul. |

http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/127159.jpg Shall I transform it in to a delivery van or keep it original ? http://www.keversite.nl/fotoalbum/fotos/127160.jpg Paul. |
