thanks guys. ill get some pics up later tonight. right now im TRYING to get thye starter to turn on with the key. ive gone under the car and jumped the starter, and it works as it should. now its just wiring. i have the proper beently repair manuel for my super, and i got to ask... where the hell is the seat belt interlock relay at? i think that might be why mu starter wont work. any info would be great!

The bentley manual shows how to bypass the relay. It's on the last page of the electrical section in my copy. ;)

ya i searched it on the samba. it was a combination of the relay being bad, AND the ingition switch being bad! so tomarrow im hopin to get another ingition switch tomarrow. any one have any pointers on how to get the plastic cover off the steering column?

If your wanting to remove the plastic cover to replace the mechanical part of the ignition switch, you don't have to. Remove the steering wheel, and there's a small plastic cover that comes off, and you can see the cast housing for the switch. Then, in the bentley it shows you where to drill the small hole to release the switch.
