You could try getting the karmann strengthening parts:

I think the under channel strengtheners must add a lot of strength...

Hi Jason

I first saw them on a London to Sydney Marathon Beetle, but I think any shape would help, the factory cabriolets used a curved section I think.

STIDUB, by dimensions do you mean how high and how long?

yeah, height lenght, where the curved bend was put in, and the flat bent sections around the bottom, im sure i could work it out myself but my bug has no sills in currently so it wound be a little difficult, would be great if you could share, rough drawing or whatever the person who made them did them off would work fine too :thumbup:

are these a very noticeable strength adder i have a stock bug tat im going to lower soon and can do these upgrades my self will i notice a differance right away also would a rear floor stiffener help like between the chassis tube to the heater chanel right behind the door
