vujade June 7th 2004 08:30

if anyone wants to split a room let me know....

jhelgesen June 7th 2004 09:26

Family and I are planning on tubing the river, probably sunday morning. Anyone gonna join us?

Panelfantastic June 7th 2004 15:33

Things are not coming together for me to be able to attend. Nothing bad, actually lots of good... just too much going on to bring the panel out of town or be away for several days. I will be making some shows this year I hope but it will be closer to fall for me. We signed a construction loan this am for building a new house and my side biz is in full swing (lawn care). I enjoyed wrenching on the panel all spring and now it's time to be a grownup for a while... :bawling: .

yellow73 June 7th 2004 19:45

Room is booked and looking forward to the trip.

yetibone June 7th 2004 19:53

OK, we WILL be there. We will be booking a room in the Econo Lodge. We MAY be driving the Bug. I figure if either of us could drive it to work for 2 weeks while I was fixing the Passat, we can drive 7 hours down the hwy.

We MAY need John's trailer for the trip home...

Sue and I will most likely leave out Friday at 1 or 2pm, and arrive at the 'Lodge around 9:30 or later Friday night.

zen June 8th 2004 22:32

that's great news for most. sorry you can't make it panel. at least try to make taccoa. that our other big get together.

still not sure if my bug will be together. imagine that, i will be down to the wire again. looking forward to it nonetheless. the 951 will be just as much fun. still waiting on my t-shirt to show up.

If you need help, you can count me in. I'd be more than happy to help you out. :agree: If not I hope to see it at the show.

zen June 8th 2004 23:54

lol. let's hope i am not in that situation again (at least my neighbors are hoping), but i may be. thanks for the offer. i will have it in mind. still waiting to hear about my engine being ready and for the shock bushing to show. have to:

install the engine
install shock bushings and shocks
install cup brace (already welded, just have to bolt in)
mount the oil cooler somewhere
rerun oil lines
relocate or replace breather (looking for CSP if anyone has one for sale)
rewire my regulaor bypass
wire my doors
figure out the right oil temp measurement situation (see other post on that one)
put in the passenger seat
and clean the thing

can do. :agree:

boygenius June 8th 2004 23:58

You can do it......

I will bring some ear plugs for your neighbors...

Weird... I just called the hotel to make my reservations and I got no answer. The phone just rang and rang, They are open 24 hours, correct.? I have never had to book a hotel before.

zen June 9th 2004 00:26

If we're still going in on a room, tell me where the Hotel is located. And 2 beds or 1 and you sleep on the floor, I think you're cool and all, but 3 people in 1 bed, sorry that's just too much for me.

Mike

boygenius June 9th 2004 00:32

I'll call them tomorrow, umm, later today.

Does this sound do-able.
Leave my house around midnight and drive all night so I arrive at the car show when they open at 8:00 am. Then take a quick nap in my car untill the rest of you guys show up. Or should I leave a little later in the morning like 2:00 am so I can show up a little before lunch. Unless You require my help Zen then I would come up sooner. :)

Good point, or showing someone where their room is or... I can't say, I'll keep my language clean.

That sounds very do-able, that was my first thought, but what if something happens to my car, then I might show up late and miss EVERYthing. So I'm going to get there the night before. Need a place to hangout, I'll have a room :agree: trying to help.

Mike

boygenius June 9th 2004 20:04

I got my room reserved for the 19th. Mike did you get a room for the 18th also? where at? same hotel? Maybe I could crash there if I decide to come up early. :)

vujade June 9th 2004 21:05

maybe I could crash there too if I come up early? :D

No, I haven't made reservations yet, I was gonna just wing it, but I wouldn't mind reserving a room to hang out early before the show. You could even come there and wake us up, but I have a problem about reserving a room, I don't have a credit card. So I'll either have to wing it or get someone to reserve a room for my friend and I. Also, if I get someone to reserve the room would they be the person that has to pay for it? ex, my mom reserve the room, but reserve it for me. :help:

Another thing, are we spliting a room on the 19th? I just want to be sure, if not I might try to reserve a room for both nights.

That would be cool. I wouldn't mind it at all.

boygenius June 10th 2004 01:02

Great :D but yet another question, 2 people, like 1 bed? I'm bringing someone with me and well, you're cool and all but I'd rather have her sleep next to me than you, sorry. Also, Non-smoking is great too :agree: good work.

Mike

yetibone June 10th 2004 19:07

Two beds per room... :D

Yay. I've been thinking about this a lot tonight at work. I might be asking too much of you, but IF you could book me a room for friday, that would be great. If they bill it to your credit card, I can pay you early with Paypal, or at least I can pay you my half for the 19th, but I will pay the full amount for the 18th.

If you can't or just don't want to do a lot of extra work, I'll understand. I know I'm asking a lot concidering you've never even seen me or talked to me.

Mike

boygenius June 11th 2004 01:41

You don't even have a debit card from your bank to reserve the room with???

My mom does, so I'll try to reserve it, I was just figureing since you reserved one then two wouldn't be that hard, but I'll try that.

Probably best that way. If for some reason I couldn't go up on the 18th I don't know if they would give the room to you.

I thought of that, I'd say "I was going to meat friend here to share a room and I guess he's running late. I'm sure he'll be here a little later, would you mind if me and my clostrophobic sister check in before he gets here?"

Mike

boygenius June 11th 2004 02:18

I don't think they would let you have a key. Last time I split a room that was reserved in someone elses name they had to show ID even though I was paying for the room.

Mikey 1972GL June 11th 2004 02:20

Well, I tried. Thanks for the help, I don't travel a lot and when I do, I don't reserve or pay for the room. :)

Mike

Mikey 1972GL June 14th 2004 21:55

I booked a room at the Wellesley Inn for the 18th. $52 a night :) BG, If you give me a phone number or something after I get to the hotel I'll call you and tell you the room number. Or you can just ask at the front desk for me. Sorry I don't have the address of the hotel, I can't seem to get on the VKG website to find the website for the show.

I hope I can before I leave, I didn't write down the address of the hotel.

Mike

boygenius June 14th 2004 22:45

Great. I sent you a P.M. How far from the show is the hotel.?

Still want me to bring the turbo twist rim?

Mikey 1972GL June 14th 2004 23:13

I'm sure it isn't that far THAT far from the show, concidering this is the hotel they're promoting for the show. the only bad part, I've never been there so I'm not sure where it is or how to get there. Wellesley Inn, 3329 Old Milton Pkwy. Alpharetta, GA 30005

Yes, bring the rim. Thank you.

boygenius June 14th 2004 23:57
