Looks fantastic :) Good to see that all germanlook beetles aren't 1303's ;)

Beautiful beetle!

Thank you guys, your builds here inspired me a lot!
It's time for detailing: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HnSDtcP3xD...e9dbf6df-V.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_53WIQQzmX...6fcadb6e-V.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Bmj6h4c7C6...0902171d-V.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hyMV8Da5uG...1ee8c08a-V.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QmphOFF7bV...385fc036-V.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3weln2hH0D...fe3f62d2-V.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YH4eslFhLS...0f35bdae-V.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LQffwKp2kc...80a12860-V.jpg Ignore the rubber fuel lines, braided hose with AN fittings are part of the winter project. |

Nice tow rig

After 3 years, yesterday I finally drove it! Engine sounds good, brake and suspension feel ok, no oil leaks so I'm happy with it.

nice looking 1302.
back is a little too low for my taste. |
She's a beauty...
Definitely a huge motivation to get my little red bug back on the street again! Greetings, Tobi |
Just Beautiful...
A style of build user 'vujade' coined - "Resto German". Subtle, understated, OG in the details... Love it! The ride height/stance is perfect. Rake is for Cal-Lookers. |
Oh, and, can you explain the oil pressure gauge fitting?
??? |
Thanks for the comments, guys!

I'm trying to keep the dash simple, so originally inteded to make a nice custom bracket for the rearview mirror and put these gauges there, similar to this: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...5.jpg~original I did the wiring too, but the wire harness seems to be too wide to make it invisible..at least need more time for that project. I wanted to drive the car ASAP and found a gauge holder in the garage that doesn't fit in the radio area. Again, I'm sure I will not put them there as I'm not a fan of the space shuttle style dashes. Will cover the hole with a c/f plate or similar and try to find a good place for the gauges. (Maybe under the dash?) Regarding the stance the back is a tad lower than I wanted (hard to set the TB bars without the full interior). I'll see how it performs in city driving & on speed bumps than will raise a spline later if needed. But no rake at all. |
I love the way it looks! As SteveC said, the color combo is excellent. Personally, I like the rear exactly as it sits. Unless it causes problems, I would probably bring the front down ever so slightly to match the rear.
