I haved used Ultra-Sheild's road race seat and currently (just 4 days ago) running there Rally sport seat (W/10 deg layback... i prefer an upright posture for Auto-X).
The rally seat is the way to go for in and out sistuations. but the road race seat has more comfort and support. This is all mounted Via custom brakets. Jonathan |
I have no pictures, but I have a Sparco Milano seat (yes just one for now). It's the black alcatara seude one.

Wally,
What did you pasenger side seat come from? |
Its from a Golf I GTi model around '82/'84 or so. I have two of those in the 412 ;) and both were in the bug once...The idea was that the upholstery pattern is most exactly the same as a late Mex beetle's interior, so I used the rear seats of the mex beetle and had a matching interior! Its an old trick I stole from a german guy's GL I saw once on a meeting many moons ago ;-)

i take it you need to customize the brackets/sliders for these seats? or is there a shop that sells them prefabricated for each car/model
|
If you can weld, even OK, you could cut and fab new mounts using the originals for parts. Use what ever tubing would work best with your slides....JR
|
About the bracket/sliders... I'm using sparco seats like Bogaro-ZO. My bug is a 1972 super.
Do you cut the original brackets off the floor and fab new ones? Or can you purchase something from Sparco to work with existing brackets? I have purchased their slider rails, but not sure how to get those to fit the brackets. thanks |

Hello everybody! First post here....
I have a '73 Super Beetle and I've just purchased the seats from a 2000 New Beetle. How can I put those seats into my SB? The new ones are leather and much more comfortable than the original seats. I need some detailed info on how to do this! Any info is appreciated! Thanks!! |

The gauge is autometer - carbon fiber series. For the Dash inserts, i get it from Flat4. ;) |

gone a little different, using porsche 911 fronts. nice and comfortable though.

So I finally had the adapters made for the new seats and here is the end result. A friend of a friend made me the seat brackets from scratch and I am more than happy with how they turned out. Now all I need to do is repray the pans under the seats since I had to remove the factory floor tar board and now 30 years of surface rust is visible. Still unsure if I am going to por-15 it or spray Rhino bedliner. Also need to have the adapters powdercoated eventually but for now they are going to be spray painted. I have to say that these are some of the most comfortable seats I have had and the fact that they were a gift from a car show sponsor makes it even more so. I'm off to paint the floor boards now and take the seats back out!!
Seats are Yonaka Motorsports Ronin Racing Seats that are just as comfy as they look and they recline!!!:D http://fototime.com/%7B87041C6D-436B...7D/picture.JPG http://fototime.com/%7B3CADB4E0-4088...7D/picture.JPG http://fototime.com/%7BC783C792-17C3...7D/picture.JPG http://fototime.com/%7B086BA060-7814...7D/picture.JPG |
