It was very wet in the morning and a bit cool, about 14 C, its autumn down here, almost winter.

These sprints are on most weekends.

Our club used to hold a 1/8 drag meeting on the Saturday and the show & shine on the Sunday, when the new 1/4 mile track was built in Sydney the 1/8 mile shut down and the 1/4 mile track owners let us run once then showed us the door, most VW racers wont even attend the 1/4 mile track as they get treated very badly.

So this year we decided hold our inaugural Supersprint, we had 40 + VWs enter, it was great success with many of the VW drag racers building cars to run the Supersprint, im pretty sure we will do it again next year.

hey steve, if you were the steve i spoke to about the guy leaving lights on, your older than i expected, however, can i be blindly optimistic & put in a super early entry for next year? circuit bugs are awesome compared to drags, ill push it the 1400ish kms to race next year if i have to! what happened to the orange bug that broke up the back corner on the hill do you know?

STIDUB, That was me, I'm an old fart that likes fast old cars, I'm a 54 model, so in VW years that makes me a Oval beetle with heart shape taillights and click clack doors.

The reaction by all the racers on the day was very positive, it had to be good racing with so many other VWs, I will let you know when the entries open, I hope to have 2 bugs running next year.

Our car club was at 1st worried about the financial side of having the racing Saturday and the show & shine Sunday, but it shows that a 2 day event will attract interstate people like yourself.

Wally, there was 3 x 1303s & 2 x 1302s running, the blue one is for sale, it runs a WRX motor, its really nice car.

It was the single most awesome track day I've had in quite some time. We have to do this more than once a year Stevie!

I took 3.5 seconds of my time, 10th outright, 2nd in class (only beaten by Rudi's turbocharged Sports Sedan) & I was the quickest street registered beetle. Took the kids to school on Friday, raced on Saturday, picked them up from Schoool on Monday! What a great little car!

Huge thanks to Club VeeDub & everyone who made the effort to come, it will only be bigger next time
