I will see how i like it once i get it on the road.
It is at my mechanics shop right now getting tuned up because
it has the wrong fuel pump for the dual webers.

So what do you guys think?

What color is that?

Very clean, how's the interior? I like the 2.0L Fuchs. Lowering the front is a piece of cake, but on the rear to do it right you'll need to get a pair of Bilstein's cause they are adjustable. OR cut the rear springs, you didn't hear me say that. I'll be watching to see if you squeeze some Turbo Twists under those fenders.

It looks Polar Silver to me.

As far as the interior goes, its not to bad.
It has the center console with the 3 VDO guages
It has a grant steering wheel which I dont like. :(
And it needs to be cleaned inside real bad.

Sounds like a $50 trip to the detail shop would work wonders.

Always liked that silver, need to put it on something someday. Maybe the craftsman mower? Think I can find some 10" rims and carbonfiber for the dash? :)

I am looking forward to finally driving it soon.
I am not sure though if I am going to keep it or sell it.
We'll see once i get it back from the shop.

My mechanic should hopefully have my 914 running today :D

Latest news on my 914.

Took off the Dual Webers and sold them today.
Replaced the dual webers with a weber progressive with electric choke..

Found out that one cylinder only has 60lbs of compression vs 120 on the rest.

We took the head off and found out the one of the pistons & cylinders was really rusty.

So know I am on the hunt for 1 good used piston & cylinder for a EA 1.7 T4 motor.

Can you guys believe I dont have any left? LOL :silly:

Too late here man, pitched all my old 1.7's too. I do have a core 1.7 that I'll be tearing down soon, want me to check the cylinders on it?

do you know if the piston was dished or flat top? Its a rebuilt bus motor I'm looking at, figured I can quick look and see if the pistons match. It had the same problem as you. Was pulled from the bus and the dumb a$$ owner sat it out side. I know one or two cylinders are shot, but the other two may be good, depending on the postion of the valves.

It has domed pistons. (Raised center)

I am probably going to have to buy a 914 1.7 longblock here locally. I dont have any other options.

Once I get this 914 running (hopefully this week), it will be up for sale

still havent found any used domed 1.7 pistons & cylinders.

I have to get something going here soon,, my mechanic is growing impatient :(

I would like to get this car home, cleaned up & on the road to see what I am going to do with it. Still havent decided. :silly:

Finally got a domed 1.7 p & c.
I dropped them off at my mechanics the other day, so hopefully he will have it going by this weekend. :D

my 914 is now on the road....:)

I tagged it last friday and have been driving it everyday since!

Man, do I love this car :D

They are fun lil car's. I've been driving mine everyday since my supa doesn't have a engine in it. It doesn't get me as much attention as my Supa but I do enjoy it, especially on the curve's
