Cool stuff, Turbonutta!
There are some very interested people out here. Kevin (Billyisgreat) should see this too. No-one of us however really did it yet, so now we are all looking at you haha.

The engle turbo camshat you mention: what is that? I thought that company only made type 1 cams! Do you have more info on the cam (cam lift, spread angle etc) also?
What compression ratio do you run? What cooling system will you use? What header do you plan to use?
Thanks,
Walter

My mate and i built the 2" roll cage one weekend it has door bars and the dash has been modified to accept the cage, porsche 914 dials reside in the dash.
the rear bulk head has been cut away and box section welded in to create a box to hide all the coolers, turbo etc.
Also my freind mike did the su icide doors....u just gotta hav em
if you look at the photo closely you will see all the little body mods done to the car i wont tell you what they are you will have to see if you can spot them.......

Keep the pictures coming ! :D

Where did you mount the turbo then ?

Thanks

Sandeep

Turbonutta October 20th 2003 11:57

my turbo is mounted next to the charge cooler ie behind the back seat just above the porsche gearbox
the manifold comes up into the bulk head area between the axle and engine then it exits out of the turbo and comes out infront of the passenger side rear wheel into a BENTLEY TURBO tail pipe possibly the fattest tail pipe ever its bigger than a porsche one
i love over the top.......

Just a little update from NUTTA-land MY Bug now has a years MOT wow that took some work i can tell ya...
The car is painted now in BMW new mini cooper metalic grey and i think it looks lovely. :D
At the moment the car is running n/a(my efi system is to be fitted this or next month) on turbo 40mm dells, the turbo is connected to the motor but not blowing into the engine...My mate chris who owns the workshop my car is housed in took me down the road in her, thats the first time she'd been down the road since 1995 ish...
i was worried about my 915 5speed not having all the gears as it may have been previously enjoyed but it seemed ok PHew.
The first photo shows the removable rear end
Second the 915 mount
Third the 996 carrer cab wheel, sparco fuel filler and water pipes for the charge cooler
i have also had to build a garage for her to live in its one of the metal flat pack units.
Question: how do you get a 5mx3m metal garage into 3 small boxes
The supplier managed to get it all in only trouble is you need a home depot degree in metal fabrication to put all the bits together ARGHHH
makes building the bug the easy bit, Ha ha

Wally March 17th 2006 14:31

Very nice. Love the color and the wheels!

Greetings,
Walter

zeroaxe March 17th 2006 15:37

Wow, 2 years and 2 months since last post!

Keep 'em pics comin' mate. Now you got me interested in your bug too! What kind of pipes did you use for your water-lines? What rear lights do you have installed? It looks real nice!

I am really interested in the removeable rear end. I can see the two square tubing bits welded on, but I dont fully understand how your set-up works? Care to shed some light? :D

volkdent March 17th 2006 16:51

Keep the pics coming. Looks AWESOME! I didn't think I'd like those wheels but I do.

Hi Dan (Turbonutta)

Glad you got your MOT mate - did you hear my wasserboxers now running on the Emerald M3D Injection? maybe this summer we'll get the bugs back to the Pod - i think you won worst in show in 1994 in this while i came second worst - how things have changed! ;)

I like the removable rear-end - can't think where you got that idea from... :D

Cheers

Moog
