My New DashBoard
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
After months of hardwork and playing with fibreglass, and wrapping with leather, this is what came out.. It's for my 1973 1303S. It has built-in air-conditing vents via a blower installed inthe trunk of the car. It's not perfect but it's a beauty! .. Cheers! Please give your comments. Once I get the dashboard installed, I'll snap a few more pictures. . cheers, Danny (Yes .. It's a right-hand drive. I'm from Malaysia . Anybody from around here?) |
very cool! cant wait to see it in the car! thanks for sharing your creative creations!
|
looks good, what type of vents did you use?
|
:D :agree:
Nice, it's great to see custom parts! I'm looking forward to seeing it in the car! Cheers, Dave |

Hi,
I have gotten the dashboard installed ! .. Some of the pics are show here .. Now, the "K" steering really looks out of place in the car . There's still plenty to do, the stereo's and LCD screen's not installed yet, interior carpeting not done up yet, and the car is still rolling on stock drums and stock rims! .. sadly, I'll have to postpone completion til next year due to work commitments :bawling: !! I'll be relocated to Bangalore , India ( wonder if there's any presence of beetles in India??? .. ) .. cheers, Danny .. Malaysia .. |

Wow! .. saw your profile .. Nice car you have! Think I have heard of you, your car's done by Thomas (Volks-Haven?) By the way, I'm from JB. Never really joined any events or clubs .. so .. dunno much about any other events other than bugfest! .. heheh  Yah . the porsche guages are from a porsche 914 . I imported them from US. Anyway .. do drop me a mail at krazz77@yahoo.com .. may need to ask something about those mouth-watering braking systems!! .. woah! Cheers, Danny .. |
Very cool! the sewing work looks great from what i can see! nice job on the whole design to! And yes.... that steering wheel is way out of place now :D.

btw... where did those AC vents come from? |
Quote:
Heheh .. those AC vents .. actually .. came from ... a bus!!! .. They are actually replacement parts on tour buses! .. well , I got it becos it fits really well with my all "rounded" theme .. hehhe . and it's really cheap .. about USD10 for a set of 4 pieces!! Cheers, Danny |

Hi
That looks great, :agree: it has given inspiration for my 1303 dash. Steve |
very nice :)
and loved the color on ur bug looks great :agree: |
man, that dash looks AWESOME. just curious, why is the speedo tilted? is it to see better? or just presonal preference?
but yeah, the dash looks ****ing sweet. love it! actually makes me want a 1303. now if only you would make a mold and start selling that and get rich and roll around on big piles of cash. |
hi,
here is my definition of a super beetle dash:  http://www.kaeferpower.de/4images/da...maturenb04.JPG Hard Work... |
SWEEEEET! :D I love it man, how long did it take to complete? and yes, it doese look like a lot of hard work!
Very nice job! I ould want on if i had a 1303  |
Looks nice.
|
work on it abaout 40 hours.
|
Very nice :agree:
|
40hrs sounds about right....do you still have the mold?
|
done it without a mold.
All handmade. on the right side is only a cover done with cfk. The Hood from the dashes are modded with gfk and then covered with cfk. Greets maniac |
sounds like it would be heaver than a stock dash? since you just molded over the top of the original one?
Looks killer for sure! Great work! |
its a little bit heavyer than the orginal one.
so betwenn 400g and 500g, cause i cut of many of metal. |
