Cool deal Jeff :agree: . Hope it goes well.

P.S. still no luck on tranny locating unless already built $$$

Panelfantastic December 2nd 2006 13:56

Thanks, I hope it goes well too. Wasn't something I was looking to do, but once we started talking about it... We've got some things that have to be taken care of soon and need to get the funding.

The more parts I get and the more research I do, I'm fast exceeding the limit of a built 6 rib. Getting closer to a Mendy or P-car trans. Obviously on the back burner for now.

yess...i hope we can see this nice bus in Belgium!!!!!

Panelfantastic December 6th 2006 10:23

Looks like it stays in the states. Guy from Colorado was the winning bidder. Now if only it all goes through.

ricola December 6th 2006 11:53

He's got that for a very good price, I bet you have spent multiples of that building it! I'm sure you'll be sad to see it go, hope you get on to the bug soon now :D

Yes, my wife and I had this very discussion last night. Very sad to see it go, money was lost but I was rewarded ten times over by the fun I've had and the friends I've made because of it. I am NOT out of the game but do have some priorities to attend to. Even my wife acknowledged that I had another project I am dying to get into (something more hardcore) but need to get some major things handled right now.
On a side note, anybody priced 16,386 square feet of concrete lately? Believe me, it is a humbling number.

:( If I only had the Chedda, or even a way to get a loan.

zeroaxe December 6th 2006 17:30

Just pay him in Cotton or Fried Chicken!? :p (anyone seen Me, Myself and Irene? The scene just after the wedding on the porch  )

volkdent December 7th 2006 02:05

Shoot, I wish I woulda come down to see ya when I was planning! Sorry to see it go, can't wait to see the next project!

well, can't say i didn't have an early shot at it and didn't take it. :( god did i want that though. just can't fork up another $10k on a vehicle until i get the wife's fence up and maybe the garage i have been talking about for 3 years now.

congrats on the sale jeff! we're ready to hear more on the next project.

NO_H2O December 11th 2006 19:37

Damn,,, I didn't know it as going on the block. I love that Bus and will hate to see it leave the club. I'm sure you will do another project down the road.

Panelfantastic December 11th 2006 19:56

Thanks guys!
The new owner is in town. My wife met them and said they really seem like nice folks (I'm stuck at fire station till am :( ). She said he really likes what he sees and is looking forward to getting it loaded tomorrow and headed home. He's retired military and retired Porsche tech. Pam said he was quick to pick up on all the subtle stuff.

I am eager to start another project with all the stuff I learned from doing the panel but like Zen, I gotta handle some big expense stuff first. I hope to come back stronger than ever with a more serious looker.

I can't wait to see the new project too. It's hard to see it go I'm sure, but it's nice to know it's going to someone that can fully appreciate the hard work. :D

That is actually postal tape!

yellow73 December 13th 2006 13:42

Jeff,
Glad to see that the van will stay local and is going to a good home. As said many times before, that is an awesome vehicle and I am glad that I saw it when I did.

flat_iv December 15th 2006 15:18

Panel,

I have followed your project from start to finish on multiple sites. But I never realized that you are in TN....I am in Nashville. I am building a 74 Ghia with a Suby 2.2.

Panelfantastic December 15th 2006 18:23

That's cool! I think there are four of us Tenneseans on here.
