Vkg 2007

Anyone have any idea's for 2007 events (besides Toccoa and Eurofest). How about a brain storming session in Jan.? (No, I'm not excited about 2007:rolleyes: )

NO_H2O December 12th 2006 02:41

Great call. Lets put it together. I have been so covered up with work I havn't even thought about it.

wrenchnride247 December 12th 2006 12:50

I guess lets wait for some members to post here, and see who, what, and when.

zen December 12th 2006 16:12

i'm up for discussion. i haven't put much thought to it yet myself. we are long overdue for an online chat.

massIVe 79 vert December 12th 2006 18:21

I'm up for a chat too...just let me know when.

wrenchnride247 December 12th 2006 21:57

I guess we should start with what day of the week... I think Wed.@8:00p.m. was the last time. So, date could be the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, or 31st of Jan. are some days (all Wednesdays) to maybe have the chat.

This is just an idea. It could be anyday of the week for me (after 8:00)

Lazarus December 13th 2006 09:47

im gonna be kinda busy over the first part of the year. we just got in our new house. the new baby is due mid january. so im all tied up for at least january-febuary.maybe i can make silverdollar but i doubt it.

wrenchnride247 December 13th 2006 11:03

Panelfantastic December 15th 2006 18:28

It might actually be easier for me to make a couple shows this year... 'cause I won't have anything to bring :bawling: . I could pack light and buzz across state to at least catch some fun and hang out.

Jeff-

NO_H2O December 16th 2006 23:33

Well with the BKC Dyno Day being out of the question (after the treatment we were given by them for trying to do the right thing). The Silver Dollar Shoot-out is the first event of the season. After that would be Bug-A-Palooza. They have an audio system contest, after I get done with the jam box I am putting in the bus (you know the one Wrench) I think we could take it.
We could all show up to support the race team of Len and Jake at Road Atlanta or Savana.:agree:

wrenchnride247 December 17th 2006 00:45

Silver Dollar is fine with me
Road Atlanta (Len and Jake) just to check it out, or help out (pit crew?)
Savannah (Len and Jake) ditto
Bug-A-Paluza :agree:
Road Atlanta (Petite)
Toccoa :agree:
Eurofest :agree:

Dave, I guess you like "the goods" I sent'ya!

NO_H2O December 17th 2006 09:48

Yep. The cabinet is built, amps mounted to it (one for the subs and one to drive 4 more full range in the back). I have to put the second battery in today, bolt the cabinet in and wire it all up.

wrenchnride247 December 17th 2006 12:32

Man  , you didn't waste anytime did you!

Dave left school b/c of recess.:D

NO_H2O December 18th 2006 00:52

I don't have time to mess around. I have customer cars to get out. Subs are up and thumping, I will get the 4 full range 6.5's in tomorrow before I go back to work. I broke the sub's in with some TOOL as it should be.:D

yellow73 December 22nd 2006 00:27

How about we have a chat session on the 17th at 8 PM? This should give us time to figure out when we can get the carbs, cup braces, distributors that Santa brought installed and when we will be ready to show off our latest upgrades to the public.

I have a couple of thoughts on events....
Silver Dollar would be good because it is early in the year - can you tell I am excited about the changes to my car and want to show it off???
Bug A Paluza is a fun weekend and good for the family
Toccoa is a must
Eurofest was great
Savannah would be good since my wife is from there and we could make a long weekend of it
I would like to make PLM in 2007
Also there are a couple of shows in Sevierville that I enjoyed in the past, especially trying to keep up with Jake through the mountains on the way to the show - which may not be so hard now!!!
And dare I say it...Bug Jam is a big show with a lot of cars

NO_H2O December 22nd 2006 00:30

I like Nigel's list. I don't know if I can hit all of them.

wrenchnride247 December 22nd 2006 10:35

The 17th @8:00pm sounds good so far, for a chat.

wrenchnride247 January 14th 2007 22:47

We still on for the 17th @8 pm people?

NO_H2O January 14th 2007 22:50

I'll be working but you can fill me in later.

wrenchnride247 January 14th 2007 22:55

Ok cool, we'll see who pops in...

yellow73 January 14th 2007 23:59

I will try to get on on the 17th at 8.
Looking forward to a great GL 2007.

Pillow January 15th 2007 15:09

>And dare I say it...Bug Jam is a big show with a lot of cars<

:) Still one of the best on the east coast.

Granted 2006 was a little rough for Bulli Brigade and changes will be happening to that event. Maybe a bigger location as well.

Toccoa is a great event and I really hope to make the drive for that one.

Eurofest sounded cool as well!

The 17th is one of many Wednesdays I cannot do. :(

zen January 17th 2007 09:49

assuming i can remember, i will be on tonight. on the VKG site chat board, not here.

the list sounds good overall. there is also a GT show (downtown ATL) March 31 that might be worth hitting for the local guys. all marques of cars and many engineering projects. Eurofest is my official replacement for Bug Jam. too close together to do both and last year was confirmation for me that Eurofest is WAY more fun in many respects (closer, more fun things to do, different cars, etc). i am always up for PLM. of course, i might actually have to pay my car some attention before any of that happens for me. much to do.

sorry i have been absent much. my daughter has been making some moves to become a professional actress/singer and seems to be sucking up more and more of the spare time i didn't have to begin with. so substiution is occuring. but i have to say, she is pretty damn good and has the attention of the right people. if i wasn't able to make it, i am thrilled to try and give her the right ammo and opportunities to do it.

yellow73 January 17th 2007 15:40

Unfortunately I do not think that I will be able to make the chat tonight.....I will catch up if I cannot make it.

wrenchnride247 January 17th 2007 15:58

Man... look's like I'll be typing to myself in the chat room tonight

Pillow January 18th 2007 00:12

Olay it is 11 PM... Anyone chatting now?

wrenchnride247 January 18th 2007 13:36

It was at 8 PM... only lasted about forty min.

NO_H2O January 19th 2007 21:30

Ok as far as shows that were throw into the hat for 2007, here we go.
Bug-A-Paluza Chattanooga, TN. April 21-22.
Atlanta Bug Fever Fix Carrollton, Ga. May 20.
Southeastern Bug Fair Taccoa, GA. 2nd weekend of Sept.
Petit Le Mans Road Atlanta Braselton, GA. Oct 6.
EURO Auto Festival Greenville/Spartanburg, SC Oct 19-21.
Beth brought up C-Y-W in Tenn. but I do not have dates.

And last but not least, to support Aircooled Innovations Racing campain the F-Prod 914 at SCCA events. Sched. TBA.

Did I leave anything out? (don't say BKC Dyno Day, it was brought up,,,,,,,,, and made a better joke than anything else.)

wrenchnride247 January 19th 2007 22:43

So... I guess Siver Dollar is part of BK deal?

NO_H2O January 19th 2007 23:45

No. It is an SEVWA event.

wrenchnride247 January 19th 2007 23:57

Dave, I thought Siver Dollar was part of "the list" we talked about? I'll go anyway though... just so I can stop by the Summit store on the way down ;) .

NO_H2O January 20th 2007 10:16

Silver Dollar Showdown Mar 11.
There will also be a Silver Dollar event in Nov. Reynolds GA.
Summit is my Home away from Home.

yellow73 January 21st 2007 00:01

Sorry I missed the chat .... the list looks good.
I am looking forward to this season with the enhancements to the car and the events coming up it should be a good one.

Yes, that was the result of our vote. I'm not sure what you thought the reaction would be after what went down. But that is the way it is.

zen February 3rd 2007 09:53

let it go LD. this is a freakin hobby. let's not make it something more.

sorry i missed the chat guys. i have just been head's down in crap for ages now and don't see it letting up. two careers and family was enough, but my daughter is starting a career now that is keeping me even busier.

i am good for most of those shows, maybe all. i still have quite a bit of work to do on the car before i will take it out for the season though. getting to some things i never got to, fixing things that need adjustment, and a few new tricks up the sleeve too.

for those in ATL, GT has a show March 31st on their campus that i hope to hit as well. the organizer was THRILLED when he saw a GL and told me he would love to have some at the show. details can be found at: www.GaTechAutoShow.com
