Hopefully it's a good sign that people are working on their projects. I know I've been putting in a bunch of hours on my stroker motor.

There are still many that don't know the site is back up. It use to be .com ;)

volkdent January 11th 2010 03:12

Yeah, I think people got so used to it being unavailable that when it was "gone" from being a .com, they gave up instead of looking for .net. I think those that are here need to spread the word and make sure any links you have to other sites include the .net.

Come to think of it, what forum IS hopping right now? STF is slow too, and The Samba doesn't really have much in the way of German Look...

My club forum is always brimming with chatter.

Check it out.;)

Yeah, it's really hot over there...:lmao: If I need to sync my dual Kadrons I'll be sure to post. Seriously, are you just trying to start something? Your sites been around since '07, and by the looks of it basically a AZ local site. German Look was once a large international site and you'll notice that many of the current posts are still from all over the world. If you want the craziest and most current stuff you'll still need to check in here every now and again, if you want another Cal Look, Restoration, or Rat Rod post, you'll probably be fine at your forum.

This place is really slow, no thanks to the previous web master, but some of the most inventive, best handling, and most powerful VDubs have memberships here.

Thats why im here. i want the best handling, best stopping bus in AZ. However, theres not really anybody around to give any insight into brakes and suspension. i searched and didnt find what i was lookin for, and only one person chimed in to give a hand.

Wasnt trying to start anything, just get my club site out there. And if you look closely, we do have a few from around the world.

NO_H2O January 12th 2010 16:52

We had a few bus guys on here. Search for some older post from Panelfantastic. Now that was one hell of a bus. I think Lanner at VeeDubEngineering hs the info you need for Bus brake conversions. I think Pillow made some posts of his 944 brake conversion too.
With all that has happened after Superman ruined the .com site and having to rebuild it here with a .net address, it will take a bit of time to get things back to what they once were.

hotsauce January 12th 2010 18:48

So what exactly did this superman do to the site?

volkdent January 12th 2010 21:29

Sorry, didn't mean to snap, it's just that I've been a little unhappy with the slowness of the site myself, and making comments about it is just puttin salt in my wounds.

The site had some issues all by itself. We were hacked a few times and it went down, but it kept coming back more and more slowly because it seemed to be less and less of a priority for Super. He wanted to change to a more stable platform, and though it may not have been what was needed, many including myself donated a few hundred dollars towards the effort. Then it went down for a LONG time, with no comment as to why.

It finally emerged that Super had his own priorities and as I recall was thinking about taking the GermanLook name and using it for something else. All the money that was donated was never seen again, and after some lame comments by some sort of proxy dude, we never heard from him again.

If not for the efforts of a few knowledgable guys, this site would have been a blank screen months ago, and all the knowledge from the site gone. It could be better again, but someone with some knowhow and time has to volunteer. There are still those here that would throw $ at the chance to have this site up to what it used to be.

Yeesh, that sounds a lot like the whole "hoodride" thing.

Would it help if i put the feelers out for you? i have a lot of geeky friends. Maybe one of them might be able to step up to the plate.

volkdent January 13th 2010 02:01

I'd say yes, but I'm only one vote, and I've never played ANY part of running this site, I really have no idea whats involved. But it would be great if someone were keeping their eyes out for the site and could make changes as they are needed. There are still a lot of features that havn't been restored since "the upset"...

Wow! Step in a little drama Sauce?

The site seems pretty good for having to rebuild it. I'm impressed!

Bugscandrift March 29th 2010 10:57

I dont know if anyone has gone and looked at the .com site here lately, but is he using the site name to start slinging parts?
