Race style interiors
The gallery pics seem to be screwy ... :eekno:
Does anybody have any pics of a kick-a$$ GL interior ? Items I currently have for the interior: 1. Rennshift 915 shifter 2. Sparco seats 3. Dash full of gauges 4. DS tank 5. PWR A/W intercooler 6. Battery 7. Tilton floor mount pedals 8. Considering a roll bar .... 9. Tilton remote mount brake bias adjustment. I'm looking for pictures with no carpet, painted pan, and lots of interior paint detailing .. strictly race style interiors. I need some inspiration and ideas to put this thing together. Thanks ! Kinda like this look... but it's got carpet!!! There's a pic of a green racer with 18's on it, but I can't find it anywhere. I think it was an Aussy car, ran with Dak to the Future's car, but I can't find the picture of it anywhere... I'll keep looking...

i still have a copy of the old gallery database. here are all of the race interior pics i found.

If you can get a hold of a copy of Keith Seume's VW Beetle: New Custom Handbook, there is a chapter in it covering GLs (with a little French Look, too). Some pics in there are of full-on GL cars.
What I would like to know is in two of the pics -- one zen's and one tom's -- there appears to be a walkie-talkie or similar device mounted in the back. What is that for? |

Thanks guys,
The Custom Handbook is over 10 years old (published in 1998). The JLV racer is nice but the cage is quite substancial ... good items though. The carpet look has nice components but has carpet :p I saw some pics of a red super with BBS wheels  but no interior shots I'm debating whether to leave the pan black or paint it body color to show off the interior components. Any more pics from the European shows ? Thanks for the help ! Sandeep |
Hey Sandeep I was looking on my Comp and I seen these that mint help.

My interior is pretty bone hard racing, with no extra **** that is not needed
|
Wow, Sandeep, that is an impressive template for an interior. Good luck. I'll be watching and rooting for you.

I really enjoy basic interiors. This is my car at the moment, but Im going to be painting the interior orange, adding carbon trim panels and tucking the headliner. I will be running carpet but it will have to be heavily modified. Oh and I have two seats, as there are plenty of people waiting for a ride one day hahaha. |
Where did you get the seat adapters from?
|
The seat rails are GM monte carlo drivers side on both. They have a tilt, and they're cheap. The seats needed some love, having been in an accident and received a crappy repair job. I made the seats fit the GM rails when I was repairing the seat bottoms.
The seat mountings I made myself, they connect the tunnel to the chassis bracing in the body mounting channel. Cheers! |
Hi,
first of all, this is my thread, I love it. This is the way my 1969er should look. But what do you guy think of this shifter: http://bug-tech.de/images/stories/cu...t/p1010249.jpg http://bug-tech.de/images/stories/cu...k-P5021369.jpg It was made because I didnīt find a shifter that is "racy" enough for me. Rgs, Markus |
sooo does that mean you can MAKE me one? i love it! how much?
