Any ideas? Personaly I would move it up for ground clearance, but what engine are you going to use?

Is that the tunnel you're using, there is no suspension. What are you going to be doing for suspension? Looks interesting, and I like the way the 915 looks.

mike if you look up 56oval title 56moneypit on this forum you,ll see the rear torsion bar set.the motor type4T or subie.

for type 4 I'd leave it at a fairly stock height, for scooby raise it as far as you can keeping it within the stock silhouette of the body.

I thought you were going to use an uncut 944 rear torsion housing though? I would have thought that will dictate how far it can go forwards, if at all..

That's what I had in mind. Because I'm doing a Subaru conversion too. I would liked to have raised the transmisson, but it's a little late for that.

you could always raise the rear mount, it would give an angle to the whole trans/engine but acceptable and give a surprising amount of extra ground clearance back at the sump

Rich I don,t know which motor to use yet so by having the motor 75mm forward will help with the balance of the car with either motor and if I go with a turbo type4 will give me more room and extra height will help exhaust clearance .

If I were you I'd chose which engine to use first. I'm obviously biased towards Suabru, especially the price you guys down under can get them for! With even a mock-up block it would be easier to plan things out as I would want to triangulate some extra bracing in there too..

even in australia each state has different laws in Victoria if I use a subie engine the car,s pan&body have to have a torsion test and comply with current adr,s & no modification to the motor, but in New South Wales & Western Austalia it doesn,t have to have a torsion test.I,ll set the pan up first eg have it rolling then body last .
cheers Malcolm.
