another 915 clutch act. puzzle

This is the situ: Subaru ej20, 200mm t-1 clutch (kep stg3), 915 pull type casing, subaru master and slave hydraulic parts,t1 or subaru starter.

How do i get this setup to work?
I know i need a 200mm disc with the porsche splines.(since t-1 dont fit)

What T-O bearing to use?
What T-O activating arm to use?
What starter? (subaru have built in end bearing)(T-1 not?)

All the parts are sitting in the garage waiting to be assembled, or at least trial and error assyed.

I dont want to invent the wheel again, so please give me your suggestions.

Contact Kennedy Engineering. They'll hook you up. It's expensive but I'm going the same route but with an EJ25.

Hi

I just bought a G50 clutch kit and Subaru adaptor from Kennedy. They are really great people to deal with and the parts are 1st rate.

Already have the kep adapter for t-1 trans. Just needed to get it to work with the 915.
Have already figured it out myself. kennedy was not cooperative, and told me i had to buy a complete set from them or just forget it.

So no my t-1 clutch 200mm works with the trans, with original t-1 throw-bearing. Had to change the center of the friction disk for a 915 unit.

stil missing a starter.

Hi

Ive used a semi auto starter in the past, one of them may work with your setup.

Another alternative with the though out bearing is to use a Saab unit.

Saab unit,

It seems that my plan is going to backfire real hard!!
From my measures the t-1 clutch dont have enough room in the 915 bellhousing. it looks like it wil bottom before the engine flange meets the trans.

have not tried to assamble it yet.. only measure
Any advise or suggestions or experience ??

Cant a T-1 engine fit a 915 trans? T-4 does and it is almost the same..

Please help.. dont want to bite the dust and get me another adapter plate and flywheel and clutch.... that really is going to blow my time-frame

Cool! Have you tried this already Steve?
Any thoughts of how to attach it to the 915 bell housing?
I guess you'd use a 228mm bus pressure plate for this right?

I still think a hydraulic annular TO bearing is the best option, period, so I'am very interested!

TIA,
Walter

Hi Wally

I was going to use it with a 200mm clutch in a G50, I decided it wasn't the way to go and I've now gone with a complete G50 set-up, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, throughout bearing.

I was planning to make an adaptor to bolt the Saab bearing base to G50 using the throughout bearing guide tube mounting points.

Please disregard my last message. Im so lucky, everything fitted nicely when assambled, even got 2mm to spare for the throwout bearing....
I must have smoked something when i measured. Because i forgot that the "sun" spring in the center of the pressure plate moved about 10mm innwards when torqued.

now i only got to find a starter

Hi

we've all done that, that's were the old carpenters rule comes into play, measure twice, cut once.
