Introducing myself / car

I've been looking to the forum for ideas for a while now, but i think this is my first post. Anyway, got a 58 body on 57 pan (Beetle), 1776 type 1, 17" chrome late model boxter rims (I think you all refer to these as "twists?"). I'm currently replacing the front end, was totally botched as i bought it (whole story in itself)...........2" narrowed & adjustable beam w/ dropped spindles & disk brakes. Engine - basically planning on going near 2ltr w/ intercooled turbo system. Myself & a friend have been building & selling carbon race fairings for sports bikes for a while now, so i'll probably be making extensive use of cf. Right now the car looks great in concept, good enough for you to look at it & get excited. For now i'm just getting it on the road, it will be a summer project (drive bike in summer, car in wint., you get the idea).
Anyway, I'll try to post some pics of it as i go and thank you all for sharing your cars & ideas, we're all a great resource to eachother.

Thanks,

Shea

New Mexico, US

ps - my stepfather has been building motors for german/japanese cars for nearly 50 years and has offered to assist me, which really helps to inspire some confidence in the project (his shop used to build & race cars in the Baja races back in the 70's / 80's)

Welcome to the forums Shea, there is a great bunch of people here.

P.S. what kind of bike do you have and do you have a website for your business. :D

I ride an '03 yamaha R1. Unfortunately we do not have a site up yet. We have only been doing business locally (El Paso area), we're still a bit nervous about meeting the production demands of a internet client base, you know, it all just takes time & money........but we're working hard on it so i'm sure we'll get there. Just don't want to get in over our heads until we're prepared.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
