I was over at air cargo last night and found 2 yes 2 Carrera GT's on pallets outside Lufthansa Cargo. Sorry about the blurry pic, my other hand was (((((((((((((busy)))))))))))))

Woah...
If you like the C-GT, then DL Top Gear's review of one. I think everyone will be pleased (WARNING: Server may be slow. 56K need not apply. Gratuitous Porsche content.) |
Oh good my Carreras came....I wish. Those things are sweet. I got to sit in one at the Detroit Auto Show....Maybe.....maybe that was just a 911 I cant remember, but I thought it was one of those. Dang those are hot.
|
I love Top Gear, I wish we could see that show here in GA. We get BBC but I have never caught Top Gear on it.
I was woundering if I could have hit the shipping sheet with some white out and a pen and have one show up at my house. Would have been fun to get one off the pallet and get clearance from ATL ground for a high speed around the outer taxi-way Lima  |
were the keys inside?!?!
|
yep, it looked like the keys where in them.

You must have the coolest job... At least this week... |
you just can't get good help these days. i told them BLACK, not silver. :agree:
|
The cool part for me is that one is probably headed to my dealership :D
I am an automotive sales consultant for Cook Imports (Porsche, Audi, VW, Nissan and Mazda) in Farmington Hills, MI. One of our customers ordered a Carrera GT for himself and two 911 twin turbos for his kids about a month or so ago. Damn I wish he would adopt me...all my car fetishes are old aircooled cars that don't nearly as much. Can't wait till the tech calls me out back to go for the shake-down drive after prepping the car  |
destination for both cars was ATL.

Or maybe it was this one. Care to bid? Yeah, obviously no relation to seller.

I guess I have simpler fantasies, I would get a kick out of just getting to see one in person. That ain't gonna happen in this part of the world.
|
I like the payment calculator...
Nice easy payments of $10,000 a month... |
Look at the counter... it's had over 6,000 hits and it's still got 5 days to go.
Very nice .... if only I won the Lotto  Rob. |
Less than a day left, get your wallets ready!
|
hmmm. and no bids. let's see. if we each throw in a grand...we could easily make it with all of the members help on here. then we just have to figure out a rotation schedule.
|
I guess now we know it was overpriced at $660K. Who'da thunkit?
|
So Zen if YOU are collecting the money and your $1,000. was therefore the first, then you would get the car first, right? Therefore who ever sends you the next thousand first gets it second, right? So this is easier than we all thought on the rotation. The only question is the period of possession based on the thousand. One week? One month? Or would it be done by miles? Keep us all posted OK?
Thanks, Randy |

Look what I "took" home from work a few nights ago. The customer complained of an intermitent loss of power between 9k and 15k rpm. There were no "FI" codes or check engine lights so he wanted someone to take the bike home to put some miles on it. Well I did put about 100 miles on it and I found the problem, but not before having some fun. It was a loose spark plug cap/coil. Suzuki didn't get the #1 cap/coil all the way down on the plug at the factory and it would only act up during cornering when the cap would be forced off the plug by the side to side movement of the bike.
Sometimes I love my job. :D |
Good customer service :agree:
did you get paid extra? ;) Mike |
Quote:
No extra pay but I did get the satisfaction of whooping my friends but in the twisties. Nothing like going 85 mph in a 20 mph corner. :agree: |
