Germanlook 1303 with Subaru 2.2

Hi,

wanted to show you some pictures of my 1303. But 85 KB at a max is very poor and by this quailty isn´t that what I expected. More pictures can be seen on my site www.bugat5speed.de under Projekte. Or if you can get hold of, buy the current issue of the german magazine VW Speed (issue 02/2006). In there the car can be seen on 5 pages (with all details like Porsche-gearbox, Bug @ 5-Speed shifter, Porsche-brakes, Remmele suspension, etc....).

Sorry once more for the bad quality, but the pictures were brilliant before.

Cheers Martin

Nice job Martin!

Where are your coolant lines?

Hi Richard,

this picture was made before the coolant lines were mounted. The tubes are at the sides, where the body is mounted to the floorpan. We used aluminium plastic tubes which are normally used for house installation. They are very good and easy to handle if you have the tools for it. A friend of mine worked in such a company that produces these tubes and he could get hold of the tools for me. The report in VW Speed shows all details very well. For you it shouldn´t be a problem to get one (if you like).

Cheers Martin

Martin,

Nice pictures.. :)
You have me now thinking of going scooby power.. specially since I am a fan, and believe in the reliablity of the EJ series engines..

What is the power output of the 2.2 lt (Aprox 150??) currently looking at what mods can be done.. I would think Cams, but not sure.. this is something I am looking into on the scooby forums.. :(

I will start a seperate thread, to see if anyone want that issue and maybe you can help us out..

You mention alumin plastic piping.. did I read that correct.. Not to familiar.. I have seen Copper, and PVC for home use, but not what you mentioned..

Martin,
I got hold the the magazine and forgot to ask, what's the second water tank in the engine bay for?

So PVC lines are stong enough to be run under the car, and the water temps don't affect them?

If you can read german or want more pics email me..

I finally got the article scanned, for Martin.

Hi,

Hope you will read this post and have the time to answer:

I`m going to update my 1303. Not decided on WBX or Subaru yet, but in both instances your radiator looks to be of great interest.

Could you show us some more pics of the mounting both from underneath and from above. Also the ducting and pipework would be very interesting.

as a side note: did you have to make any modifications on the engine bay? Inner fenders etc?
