Kamei front spoiler vent holes

Hello,

After it lying for about 5 years in my basement, I finally dusted my NOS Kamei 1302/03 front spoiler off and want to mount it.

However, I have the oil cooler right behind the slotted front valance and the spoiler will block the air for the oil cooler...:(
What would be the best way to perforate this ABS-made (its a ductile plastic sort) spoiler? Holes?round, elongated? Slots? Big open rectangular hole?

Residual strength is of course a major concern for this.

Here are some pics of it:

Thanks,

I am by no means an expert in aerodynamics, but this is what I would attempt(excuse the very crude drawing)

On the spoiler I have drawn a rectangle. This would be the hole cutout. In the very crude hand drawn thing below, this is my idea. The spoiler bolts onto the bumper right? Ok, the red line marked as 'block off' speaks for itself. This would probably need to be manufactured out of a nice rigid material. There is a mini spoiler right under the bumper to direct air into the newly cut hole(this could probably be disregarded anyway as the air would dam up under the bumper anyway).

The way I see it is that this way there would be enough air ducted to the oil cooler, but in my humble opinion kinda defeats the object of having a Kamei no? (ie preventing air under the car in the first place). HOWEVER, I do see some logic behind it. Some air passing to the radiator is better than having air passing under the whole car :D

(again sorry for the crude drawing! lol)

Graft in some slots with an air-frees of with the hand (figuurzaagje=minste kans op uitschietingen).

Yes just like that german car that aart-jan posted.

Thx AJ; I think I even see that he has made a passage for the towing hook, which can be mandatory for some race track participations..

Still, the openings as a whole seem to be a little restrictive. I wonder what his oil temps were before and after the spoiler mounting.

IIRC, Bernd Rummenholl also had some holes in his Kamei spoiler on his GSR (?)
I'll see if I can find a pic of his Renner.

What Is A Kamei?

Where can I get a kamei spoiler for my 1303 here in the U.S.?
