Nick brakes! Wish I could afford 951 stuff.

What is the aluminum box opposite the master cylinder?
- proportioning valve?
- line lock?

Bullyboy June 4th 2006 23:14

What model of line lock is that?
and what master cyl ?
My 61 looks similar but mine has all early 944 brakes with 944 master cyl.

64bug June 5th 2006 00:15

Hurst lock, csp 21mm master cylinder.

jrinlv June 5th 2006 00:47

Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but are your lines run the right way out of your master cyl? I thought the front line goes out the first hole and rear is the second hole (from the pedal)? I know it's not the same in all M/C's. Thanks JR

SoCalGL June 5th 2006 01:28

64bug June 5th 2006 09:55

Didnt mean it like "that" It was a good question... got me thinking a little bit. Almost scared me there for a few minutes.....

PS. I thank everyone on the forum for sharing all thier info on this swap. It saved me alot of time with trial and error.

Have you remembered the brake light switch?

Rich

64bug June 5th 2006 11:50

Ya its on the line loc.

64bug July 7th 2006 00:51

Well, heres what i came up with. Fitting these on drop spindles is a real PITA. But there on there. I was hard cutting into the nice pretty calipers. Thank you to all who have shared info.on doing this conversion. It helped greatly.

Sweet mother of Moses!

chug_A_bug August 29th 2006 01:18

very nice :)
wish I had them

buggyboyshane October 3rd 2006 18:34

absolutely gorgeous!!! would they fit on an oval with narrowed beam, cb dropped disk spindles? ive been offered reds from a boxster, with disks for 400 is this good money? is there much work involved?

would they fit inside 15x6 and 15x8 fuches?

64bug October 4th 2006 00:00

They "fit" yes. Backs are easy. Front require machining and creative thinking. "not the easy part." Not sure about the boxter brakes. Never worked with them before.

johchi October 19th 2006 13:50

What did u do to those calipers? I hope you don't plan on doing some heavy braking........

64bug November 17th 2006 23:47

Cant be to heavy... its a bug.
