front roll bar 1302/1303

whats the difference between early and late front roll bars? i know one is wider but can't remember which one is which, also whats the difference with these front roll bars for lowered cars? is it they don't have the bent up part or they shorter to alter the castor angle? need to replace mine as not happy with it but want to know what's gonna work best for me.

A picture says more than thousand words.... Here they are side by side. The lower is from a 1303 and the upper is from a 1302. I have converted my front arms and roll bar from 1302 to the 1303. Both was exchangebly but the 1303 parts fitted better with the other 1303 parts. The main reason I changed rollbar is that the 1303 bar gives you more room for lager wheels as they are more curved. I am able to run 215/50-16 with original turn radius.
I found a link that helps you figure out what happends when you suspension moves and you lower your car.

cheers, thats what i thought, looks like i need a late roll bar. nice link too, do you know the standard numbers for the 1303?

When I searched for my I VAG gave me two numbers
133 2200 000 and
134 2000 001
the higher number must be the 1303.
I was told that they was out of stock so I had to go to a car junk yard and pick a used one.
