stiff rear suspension

As I bolted the 944 T suspension to my 1979 1303 "vert" I saw that the rear suspension is very "stiff". The original torsion bar are jused with a urethane bushing on the inside and the original 944 Porsche bushings on the swing plate. I also jused the 944 torsion housing. Could it be that this housing has to be bolted with spacers between the chassis and housing? Anybothy something to say about this problem? :p

It may be worth reassembling with the torsion bars left out. So the hub can go through its motions. Ckeck the motion of the shock absorber if you would please. Are the bolts definately parallel?

Lose the eurathane. PITA! only weeks of use after soaking in PTFE slick 50, they always start to sound like a million mice! :D
German black mounts running in talcum powder work a treat.

Sometimes I think my Kab's rear torsion bars are a bit soft tho' I have some heavy audio behind my rear seat :silly:

What kind of Talcum powder ?

Old thread but had a question about Talcum powder .
What do you use ? Baby powder or some other cosmetic stuff ,or can you buy just straight powder for the bushings ?

I just bolted up my 944t items last week.

Take off your shocks, to see what kind of travel you get. If you dont get a lot of travel then you are binding somewhere.
I agree with Matt about the urethane bushing. Go with rubber. Too much noise for a street car.
Brad,
Regular old talcum powder (baby powder is the same but it has that "fresh as a daisy smell"). If you like I will sell you some "special" racing talc for $50. a oz.

Old thread indeed!

Talcum is finely ground French chalk ;) - baby powder is fine.
