Where i have been!

Well im glad to say i am now a father. My son was born Oct. 1st, and boy how life changes. Ive been so busy that i havent been able to get get back here or even do any progress on my ride. So as my life has changed, so must other things also, i have unfortumatly decicded to sale my bug. I need the cash for more Baby items and to help my support my mom. Family first!

so about the car, its a beater! but with a good body, no major anything! There are 2-3 spots of surface rust where the PO did not treat the metal before he sprayed it. There is no interior, execpt seats that are in bad shape. Engine runs fine, has never let me down, but the starter has, so im replacing that this weekend. Other things are needs brakes, and the transmisson linkage to be cleaned up. Finding 1st is sloppy sometimes. I bought it and decided to drive it untill it died and then start my project, but things come up. Im asking 1000 obo, im in mobile,al. I can try to get some pics if anyone is interested.

Zen feel free to move this to where it should be, i thought i would let the VKG crowd know first.

Thanks,

Neil :bawling:

Congrats there Papa. :agree:
I remember the days of raising baby's. The first one was a handfull and he just got married on Oct 31. The second time around was a blur. We had twins (a boy and a girl), they are now 15 and I must start projects for them. Joel has the 73 bay window bus, Jordan has,,,well,,,Nothin yet but she thinks that my beater bug is hers but it is too far gone to do something nice with. She want a Ghia, Thing or Notch but she would take a bug. I need to find a nice body to swap wiff the beater car body as it has a great pan.
I know how things change with the addition of a child. They grow up before you know it. You boy will be wrenching on a project with you before you know it. When Ryan was 2 he use too jack up his big wheel with a compact floor jack next to my car and use my tools to tune (play) it while I worked on the car. He also used a PAW catalog as a shop manual to look up stuff when I had to use the Bentley manual. We had a 1302 and a 70 Bus back then. Now he is 20 and can't remember anything about working on cars  so I am having to teach him all over on his new bug project. I say that because this car is in the same state I left in when I go back to do the next thing to it. :(

It is great being a parent! I have two rug rats myself, one girl 3.5 years old and a boy 15 months old. Lots of fun.

What year is your project anyway?

Good Luck!
