You will have to shorten the torsion bar housing too and probably tub the rear end of the body, not a small job!

Why not go with 1", 2" or 3" fiberglass fenders. I shorten my own IRS trailing arms, it does take some work. You can shorten the trailing are 1' Per side. Fiberglass fender makes your task much easier:o . I wanted 10 rims so I went the fiberglass way. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...5.jpg~original http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...5.jpg~original http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...3.jpg~original |
ok i have a 72 non sb and i "dont" have trailing arms :(
now going back how can i shorten the rear torstion bars???? |
Arm
Why shorten the torsion arm, or do you mean the trailing arms? If you would like to shorten the trailing arm, there is a how to on this site
|
You can buy shorter torsion bars, the torsion bar housing would need shortening (cut, internally sleeve and re-weld) as the spring plate starts to be a limiting factor at about 8,5J width. Buy shortened axles to match the reduction.
