Porsche boxster 16" wheel fitment (1303)

Im in the works on trading my 16"/6 Polished Fuchs for some 16" 6/7 Boxster wheels with a member here on this forum. I need to make sure they will work for me. The wheels are a five spoke with a split spoke (hole in the center of each spoke)

Ok, so i have a 74 super beetle with early Porsche 944 brakes all around.
My question is will they fit? they are 16" by 7" for the rear and 6" for the front, does any one know the offset i need and what the offset of these wheels are?
I was told they are 52mm for both... is this true?

I would like to fit them under stock fenders.

Thanks!
Jonathan

You should have no problems, you will more than likley have to get a set of spacers (slip on) to make up the difference in the offsets, I got mine (3/8 inch) from TopLine and run them on all 4 corners. When you fit them make sure you have enough thread engauged on the studs(or wheel bolts).

i believe they are 52, but am not positive. I do know that I have seen quite a few guys on here running them. they won't be an issue. peck through the member's rides section. you will see some in there somewhere.

Boxster Wheel Offset

I sympathize with your concerns. I am currently going through a lot of the same thing with a 60 convertible ghia that I have. I can't tell you whether or not they are going to fit on your super, but I can confirm the offsett. If you are refering to the 16" split spoke style, the offsett for the wheels is not 52!!!! For the 16x6, the offsett is 50 and for the 16x7 the offset is 40. On the split spoke Boxster wheels, there are two sets of numbers stamped on the outer side of the rim right on either side of the valve stem hole. One is the wheels offset and the other is the width of the rim. Good luck with the fitment.

I have installed the 16 inch Boxster wheels on my 79 convert with CB performance 4 wheel disk, front Kerscher coil-overs. The tires will NOT clear stock fenders. I will try to post a picture this weekend.

Thanks,

Randy

Boxster 16x6 et 50 front, 16x7 et 40 rear, they will fit with stock fenders on 02/03. I have them on mine but my fenders are 2cm and 4cm wider with spacers, just wanted the fat look like 930 turbo! :)

super vw July 18th 2004 20:44

so for sure they will fit under stock fenders, with spacers correct? Nice nice nice!

Ok so the next question is do i need to go with a narrow/lower profile spring in the front such as a maxx strut or hou rglass shaped sport springs?

Thanks!

BTW, do you have any pictues of your car silver bullet?

Under stock fenders no spacers needed. I am using Kerscher coilovers, I not too sure whether the rims will have enough clearance from stock springs. I have a friend here using 944 springs with the same rims. Ok just got on the phone with him, stock springs no clearance issue, go for it. :) Pictures are on members gallery. Cheers.

Sweet, thanks!
I should have asked this earlier, but what brakes do you run? i have the early 944 units so it makes the track larger by i think 22mm each side.

Later,
Jonathan

I have 993 c2 front and rear brakes and rotors. :) my friend has 944 na brakes all round and boxster rims fits nicely. Go for it. :)

I have seen an '03 with these rims fitted with 944 steel A-arms and brakes, the rear 7" ET40 stuck out from the wing buy about 4-5mm. Enough to look a bit odd.

Can I suggest polishing the rims .. .. .. seen here on my wife's lowlight Ghia :D

Fitting them to this was a real PITA

Any difference in length btn stock vw trailing arms and 944na trailing arms? I'm not sure on that but I've seen my friends car, its flush with the fenders. His is stock vw trailing arms. :)
