thanks to the great input of the gang, we have two front runners in my opinion (unless any late entries show up). we'll give this a week of voting to get as much input as possible and still allow time for artwork for merchandise and time to order.

voting is only open to VKG members please (although recemmending names is open to all).

as a reminder (in case it factors in to your decision), the weekend events are:

1. attend the Heart of Dixie show in Alpharetta, GA
2. cruise up to and throughout the north GA mountains
3. stop in Helen, GA (psuedo-German town) for food and drink
4. hit the go-cart track in Helen (30+mph propane carts)
5. possible visit to Aircooled Technology (depends on Jake's schedule at the time)
6. overnight stay in Helen

btw, i confirmed the naming and spelling with my mom. i know it is slightly different than what you guys submitted, but my translator came up with these and my mom (native German) is confirming they are correct.

it is so weird the things we take for granted in our language that you have to learn in others. With berglauf, apparently laufen would be used for a running race or marathon as it is a slower race. where lauf allows for all speeds. :confused:

maybe we should also include a german language class to rules also! :eek: :D

congrats to john for coming up with the name and winning nothing but knowing you named the event. :D a great choice.

i will hopefully be working on some details this week (lodging, t-shirts, etc.). i am still trying to get my car ready as well. i'm almost there.
