yeah this has definately been an idea in my head thats be rattling around... a 911 gauge set up mounted in the dash would look sick....

Wow, dude!! This is the best example to show how to install guages in an old bug's dash instead of hanging them under it!! You have cut the dash but the feeling hasn't changed at all! really nice work :agree:

65Cabby May 30th 2006 18:34

Thanks guys
The gauges are autometer 'traditional chrome' parts no
2499 tacho
2522 pressure
2543 temp

the speedo then had it's pointer painted to match.

Yes the dash was cut but then the car started out as LHD so the whole dash has been replaced.

What you can't see is the little shift light just behind the base of the Fridolin steerng wheel. I've left uder the dash for just extra switches like the washer bottle , oil cooler fan and launch control switch... but that should be another post :)

What are you using for a fuse box Kafer Mike?
Is that color Gulf Blue?

65Cabby can you post more pics of the dash or send me some?
Thats the same gauges I want for my car.

Kafer_Mike June 16th 2006 13:59

Yep, Gulf Blue. I'm using a Watson Street Works panel/harness...

Decided to make my own dash (It'll have CF accents where the gauges go as well as the little valley on top of the dash). I'm basing it on a 911's dash (purchased a dash section from a mid 80's 911) just narrowed a bit. I'm just debating on what I'm doing on the lower section (might use some ideas from a 1303's lower dash section). The gauges are standard 911 stuff that has been redone in a tan with red accents....but messed up on the fuel gauge and had to purchase a new unit (will have to repaint it).....and I'm currently looking for a new tach that incorporates a boost gauge.
