Converting 914 2.0 engine

Hi,

Just a few questions - I`m doing the upright conversion after some thought - simple and effective.

I`m thinking of buying the CSP kit - has anyone used this? Is the fit and quality good? The other option is to use some bus-tins and relocate/reshape the plug hole.

On the side - does anyone have a dyno-chart output for the 2.0 100hp engine? I can only find for the US versions - not the European.

At the volksworld show CSP had some cylinder tin shroud thingy's to convert a type4 to upright cooling.. looked stock too.. not sure on price but looked like a stock fan shroud fitted onto them

These are the ones - fiberglass cylinder shrouds for stock fanhouse. And they have a generator stand also.

The Joe Cali conversion works well. Google "Joe Cali Conversion" or "type 4 coversion" and you should be able to find his book.

I have the Cali-manual - so this is more a question of how good and fast - want to run the engine this year, and have a tight schedule - one can perform the conversion.

One thing that bothers me is that these shrouds would not seal against the sides of the engine bay. I`m not sure if converted tins do this either?
Also - need to run a front oil cooler? Shouldn`t one be able to run a standard doghouse oil-cooler?

Any other experiences?

The goal is to make the conversion fast and swift -

As far as I can see I need

1) CSP`s cylinder tin set (fiberglass) which also includes the generator stand
2) CSP`s pulley - bolt on for the type4 crank and fan hub
3) 36hp fanhousing with type1 cooler and modified cooler stand
4) An adapter to the oil cooler outlets to hoses that will run through the fan housing
5) Make up tins for the rear and sides, and adapt the stock type1 for above the bellhousing.
6) An exhaust system (my preferred one is Klaus - looks like stock type1 exhaust.
7) A 200,210 or 215 flywheel with clutch, and a center bearing for the input shaft

Should be an easy conversion right?
