I have a set of 993 headlights that I am working on installing in a set of CCC fenders. The problem is the lights use a lip of the body to seat the rubber seal in the fender and of course the steel fender is thinner than the glass fender. The rear clearance issues of the tire raised by others does not appear to be an issue thus far, and I am running 18 turbo wheels and tires. I will keep you posted when I get back to dealing with the seal issue. Could be a month or more though...

Thanks,

Randy

I am planning on running the Areo fenders like Steve C's car. they have the early light bucket. I am planning on running the light on the inside and making the bucket for the light out of fiberglass and mod the hole to fit the light with the stock 993 rubber.
Are the shape of the lights that diffrent from the old porsche lenses?

First off I like the lights and I think they will look great on your car. Another thing to consider is the angle at which the lights have to placed in order to aim in the correct direction. That may or may not work with the angle of your fenders. For some more info or ideas on headlight swapping.

they were just photoshoped in to see how they look i know the angle is too high that is why i am building a 3d model of my car to work out all the details

Come on, there will be a few in the wreckers yard soon, look at all those rich kids who can't drive !!!!!

I would love to use them if i could get a set I will

SuperRSi October 7th 2004 21:24

I agree there will be some in wrecking yards soon but the jerks keep running into immovable objects with the front of the car. It was a pain to try to find left and right 993 lights. They kept running them into things.

Thanks,

Randy

Big Al's Dad was the orginal designer of the Areo Fenders. You can find them in Austraila from classic vw of australia That is what Steve C has told me. Correct me if i am wrong Steve.
