Remmele Motorsport CF parts

If anyone is interested in Remmele Motorsport carbon fiber parts, or some fiberglass parts, let me know. I have a crate of parts coming and the shipping is by size not weight, because I ordered a hood and front spoiler(s). So I can add things and they will be in New Mexico in a couple weeks. I have already ordered a spare front spoiler in cf - to be painted- like the front bumper spoiler on the blue car. I also have an additional rear engine lid. Let me know as soon as possible if serious.

Thanks,
Randy

Do they do CF runningboards? I looked through their site and I couldn't find any body parts except a rear apron with holes in it...

Price?

Carbon fiber running boards standard or wide using epoxy resin are 305 euros.
CF rear hood 1303 390 euros
CF "race" rear hood 1303 built in apron 435 euros
CF roof spoiler sedan 140 euros
CF side NACA type air inlets 320 euros
All above are visible CF weave clear coat and epoxy

Their site is confusing to me, but then again I do not read German very well.

How confident are you that these will be build at a reasonable pace?

Duty/taxes/shipping?

I'm looking at the running boards and roof spoiler.

Running boards and roof spoilers are quickly made or in stock. The other stuff Randy mentioned is usually made to order. Shipping is really a kick in the ......, if you want any CF parts from Remmele take Randy's offer now and save shipping costs.

He just got some fenders, just wondering if shipping/taxes/duty may double the price. There is a point where it's just not worth it to me, rather make my own.

If the US Dollar vs. Euro is weak, then it probably wouldnīt be worth it for just fenders.I donīt know what the import tax is in the US,but shipping is expensive unless you have the privelage of renting a container. You can rent a container for around $500.The problem is filling it.Shipping a complete car is easier and as far as weight/cost also much cheaper.Randy mentioned why.The parts like hood/bonnet,fenders,running boards and bumpers have dimensions that are not normal package sizes and therefore are charged by bulk size and not weight.A CF hood/bonnet is the most expensive to send because of itīs dimensions and it requires a specially made box.

My Kerscher fenders cost over a grand and the duty was about $40 so I am not too worried about the duty. I will be finalizing the order on Monday so decide quickly. The shipping is huge because I ordered the hood and front bumper/spoiler, about $1,000.! I have room in the crate so that is why I offered to help those here. Volkdent if you would like I will make you a deal on my Kerscher wide running boards in fiberglass and get a set of Remmele CF for my use! Remmele told me all of the above were in stock. They will be shipping this week to Albuquerque.

Ships out this week? That's good news!

Still waiting for my exhaust! 3 months now.

If there is a market for CF running boards, I can have my CF guy pop out a few sets. I had him make me a couple a few years back. Wonder if he still has the mold that he made from my 52's CF boards? Hmmmmm....... I can save you guys a couple bucks.

volkdent August 15th 2013 02:16

Super, it CF or nothing for me, but I can't justify $450 for some French running boards! I think I paid $190 for my last pair, and there are guys in the US or CAN that will make them. Pete, what does your CF guy say?

Jason

petevw August 16th 2013 15:56

Hey, my CF guy is on vacation this week. I'll chat with him when he returns mid-next week.

The boards on my '52 were purchased from Remelle more than a decade ago. I believe he was/is a reseller, as the backside has a sticker and manufacture date that are not Remelle Motorsport.

I'll let you guys know.

The exhausts are from Vintage Speed the muffler they make for Remmele has different baffles inside.Vintage Speed makes exhausts for most of the vw tuners here in Germany and others worldwide (for those who want to use the original cut outs),so my guess is their pretty busy..

Itīs possible that you have CF laminated fiberglass or epoxy running boards, which were cheaper than complete CF running boards back then.Remmele does ALL CF work themselves and always have done so.Thatīs how they started in the VW scene. They use to make CF parts for DTM cars back in the early 90s.Itīs more likely that others have copied his fenders, doors, running boards, intake systems etc.

Nope, CF boards bought from Remele in person. Tag on the backside if I remember correctly is MSS.
