964 2pot rear calipers
 

Hi to all
Just trying to get a caliper inside my 911 7x16fuchs without spacers. Does anyone know if the 964 2pots will clear the spokes of 911 number 16inch fuchs?
These are to go on the rear of my 64 bug.
I have 944N/A calipers ,but want something more.......

I have them under 17 inch BBS wheels, that wont help but maybe the photos will.

Pics are always great.
Can you tell what discs you are using? 944T? Do the calipers extend past the wheel mounting surface of the disc? Or are they well inside?
How do you like them? Were these the ones advertised on here?

They are just stock 944 discs, I will do a proper measure if you need it tomorrow, its 11.30 pm here now, I don't want to make a noise, but it looks like the calliper would extend a little past the wheel mounting flange.

I have the Porsche parts system on my PC and it looks like the 7x16 Fuchs was the stock wheel on that model.

I have a 15 inch spare in the car and it just touches the calliper.

I bought these callipers locally, the work well, they have a 42 mm piston and on the front I'm using early Type 3 front callipers also use a 42 mm piston, its was just slightly over braked on the rear before I fitted a bias valve.

So what's an Aussie doing in Japan playing with VWs?

Just couldn't part with my baby, and had to take it with. I refuse to drive anything else:)
My fuchs have a 911# not a 951#, I guess they're slightly different in the spoke to caliper clearance.

But please correct me if I`m wrong here, those are a 964 C2 caliper 89-. The 964 didn`t come with fuchs. I they wer the D90 style wheel???? But if the caliper protrudes less than about 5mm it might work.

Its strange the Porsche parts system doesn't list a 964 as a model. It has a 911C2. My Bendix pad catalogue has the same rear pad for the 1984 - 90 Carrera. It looks like the callipers changed in 91.

I will check the amount that the calliper pokes out soon.

i ran these calipers on the back of my bug for a while - they were great :) although i cant help with the answer regarding the fuchs - i ran them with 944T discs (24mm thick same as the 964 c2) and i also ran the 964 16" cup wheels.

one thing to note is if running with the 944 n/a backplate/handbrake bits i had to use a small spacers to centralise the caliper over the discs. 3mm iirc

I measured 44mm for the 964 C2 caliper, so maybe hence the overbraking?

What is the spacing between bolts on that caliper? 3", or 3.5"?

Are talking the caliper mounts? My 924S plates measure about 94mm. And test fitted a 944/ 4 pot turbo caliper and they lined up no worries. I assume the 964 C2 caliper is the same spacing. Most people adapting porsche brakes to their V DUB usually use 944 or the 924S backing plates or 944/924 IRS arms.

Yes, I'm sorry, the spacing between the two mounting bolts. Do you also use the 944 rotor with these?

You can use 944T / 996 / or 986S I believe. All are 24mm x 299mm .
