Upgrading to 944 Turbo calipers

hi guys,

Currently im running 944 brakes front and rear on my Oval. Currently the setup uses an adapter to use Wilwood calipers.

I want to change to 944 Turbo (brembo) calipers. Do i need to therefore change to Turbo hubs & rotor? Or is there an easy way?

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming 944NA brakes currently.

Rear is breezy, use 86T rotor and Turbo caliper.

Front requires matching hub and rotor:
A) 86t rotor, 86t hub
B) 87-89 rotor, 87-89 hub

The NA rotor is not compatible with any turbo rotor. One setup I did used an early NA hub turned down to match a c2 front rotor (157mm OD). That's another way to go as long as you can accommodate the additional
6mm track increase per side.

Would using an 86T rotor on NA backplate/hub be the way to go if I was going from scratch also?

Oh, for got to ask.. will it still fit under my 15's?

Yes on 86t rotor.

No, you'll need 16s for the 944 turbo setup

If you're sticking with 15s then use the Boxster blacks with 944na rear rotor and carrera front rotor on 944na hub:

Thanks again Lanner :)

I want to stick with my 15's (Fuch), very interesting info regarding the Boxster callipers, thanks.

Interestingly when I was trawling though the samba I stumbed accros this advert: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifie...php?id=1188283.

Seems to be 944NA hubs rotors with Turbo calipers (advertised as allowing 15" wheels) - I guess it is a bodge?

Yeah that setup doesn't look right. Looks like its a NA rotor (282x20.4mm) with turbo caliper intended for 298x28mm rotor. No beuno to use a 28mm caliper on 20.4mm. You should inquire on the details of the advertised setup.

To fit 15s, you COULD turn down the OD of the turbo rotor to make it fit a 15, but it's a pain since the rotor is not off the shelf and replacement parts will require modification.

I enquired at they confirmed its a NA rotor:shocked:
