Wiring Harness

What have people with 73 and later superbeetles been doing for a complete wiring harness? Can't understand why they are not available, seems like a popular enough series of years and cars. The have complete harnesses for everything but 73 and later superbeetles. I really need all new wiring for the front since a headlight wire shorted and fried all my other wires, so I figured good time to replace it all.

I have used this company for a few "re-wires" very good products, and support. Most important it eliminates ALL the amps from going thru the ignition switch like factory VW harness does. There are a few relays you can't get for the later VW's this harness gets rid of. You can mount the fuse block under the back seat, hood, or stock SB location.

Its the second item on the page, and if you click on the link you can see how easy the harness is to install. The pix are of an early beetle, but you get an idea of how to do it. It comes with great instructions for different year wiring issues to deal with. A wiring diagram of your year car helps alot to "adapt" factory items on the later years.

Ditto on the WSW kit. I used one to wire my '69 Beetle. Great quality, great instructions/schematics, great tech support. Lots of extra ports to add accessories...
