No, mainly also because there are many, many different set-ups all with their own outer diameter, case breather machining, shrouds, etc.

To Wally's point, do you know what conversion kit you are going with yet or is this full-on DIY? If the latter, you have your work cutout for you and will need to be very specific on what your plans are to get much online assistance. This is the crowd to help though if you can provide more info. Many on here have done them.

Thanks I have a 911 shroud and fan coming but I do not know the size. I did find out that I will need bellcrank linkage. What I really would like is the setup wally has!! And yes it is a DIY. I made my Cali tins I think I can do this. thank you for replying I'm really in the dark doing this and will have lots of questions. Dave

No, I couldn't get any more stroke with the damaged alu oettinger cylinders than 66mm. Remember, this one hole on the underside of this one barrel, was difficult to brush off :lmao:

Ok now that I have my mounting ring and fan setup where do I measure to know the size? Dave

OUter diameter of fan housing is the size. Most systems are however constructed around a slightly machiend down fan housing. Original 270mm, turned down to 260mm IIRC.
Even so, most shops have their own adapter plate and machine their own thing. I realy can't give you any more directions then this as I simply don't know or have machined anything myself...

Are you dead set on having the 911 fan shroud ? Jake Raby at massive type IV makes a really cool type IV fan shroud that works better than stock . Its called the DTM (down the middle) shroud . Its been made for the type IV engine that has been fit into a type I . His store's website is http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/store/home.php . Yes that is what I want to put in this. Yes I know Jake I have chatted with him on the web. I do like the dtm but, there is no room for any intercooler, with the Dtm or my current 36hp style shroud. I have no room in my current cars engine bay. I really like the setup wally has, But they are harder to find and $$ for shipping if you can find one.I did have a chance to buy a used Dtm. Thats all Dave

all i can say is that i support you on this. post your info as you go along. i also have been thinkin of doing the same myself, as in building my own porsche fan shroud set up. best of luck man! ;)
