Rear suspension explanation needed

I'll be honest, I haven't been researching as much as I want to but I need someone to clear this up for me. I need a clear explanation please. Seriously, talk to me like I'm ten years old and explain the differences, benefits, disadvantages, cost, etc for the different types of upgraded rear suspension; ie uniball, Porsche bits etc.

I have limited internet access here in Germany, and I can't read german so the sources here are almost useless. I would greatly appreciate it.

Anyone? Lots of people are looking but no one can help me out? Please...

The info you are asking for would take pages to answer the way you would like it explained to you. Can you narrow it down to the type of suspension style your most interested in.

Some of the Porsche conversion info was covered on the main page under tech. I would start there since it is more popular.

See, that's the thing. I don't know what would be ideal per application. That is why I generalized.

I'll go check that out now, thanks.

The suspension tech article on the front page was useful if I were looking to keep the torision rear end, but I'm looking for information on upgrading to a coil spring rear end.

If you are intrested in the coil-over set-up... you should have started your thread with this. You would have gotten an answer faster from more people. The first thing that comes to mind is since your in "Deutschland" check out Remmele's web site. His site is in English, or German.

You can do a search under this section for coil-overs. There are alot of people on here running this type of set-up. For cost reasons I went with late model 944 set-up. The coil-over set-up is more for racing, or non daily drivers from what i've seen. There is more adjustment with coil-overs though.

I've looked through Remmele's site and I'm hoping to find a cheaper solution. I'm ultimatly wanting to find the best solution for supurb handling without spending more money on suspension bits than I did on my Subaru.

Yes Remmele is high priced good's, but good quality. You can check out www.summitracing.com for coil-overs around $350 US. Several advertisers in HotVWs mag carry a uni-ball set-up for about $200 US, but are really made for off roading. If you total this stuff up with shipping from US... Remmele might not be so bad;)
