I wen't to South GA. today and picked up the bus. That brings the total of aircooled VW's at my house to 4. DAve Mace was going to SC to get his 2L Fuch's today. He just got back from Hawaii. I need to call him tomorrow and see how he likes them.

I am still lurking in the shadows, not much to say though

Hey Tony Z, glad you are with us. Feel free to jump in. How is VeeDubbin' in Cape Town? Right now I have too many projects and not enough time(or money). The weather has been wet here every time I want to work on my VW's(3 Bugs and a Bus).:silly:

Weather is great, been in the high 20's to low 30's for the last 4 months -- That is celcius not Fahrenheid. Been trying my best to get the Cape Town Volksie Club into action and get some life into it. Looks like it is finally happening. All it needs is one person to make a BIG move and everyone jumps in the wagon, just a pity it has to be me. I am only in the Country for 4 months of the year.
I drive my bug every day, causing as much havoc as possible in the process. Latest victim....CIVIC VTEC gotta love the way that car just stops when he hits the rev limit.... Laters.... www.geocities.com/suicyde_vw |
Keep it up. Somebody has to. Maybe another will take your lead and help to whip the mule and keep the wagon moving.
|
I may be going to the Jacksonville show. Hopefully, it will be a useful learning experience.

Only problem we got in South Africa (other than the ****ty money exchange rate) is that the bug is still used for regular transport. Not too many enthusiasts.

You could be the trend setter.
It has caught on everywhere else. |
Trend setter, I should rather call myself "bad luck incorp". The latest idiot to drive into me just set me back another months wages. Thats 4 months wages in the bin becasue of people who wont take responsibility for themselves. Sorry, am still peeved. Those 4 months could have finished the 2332 that has been in the works for 2 years now, due to lack in funds.
Well, at least my car will have an absolutely different engine to anyone in South Africa. First with the new 044s. First with the CB chev journal 84 crank. Second with a web cam cam, other is a 86C, mine is 121/125. First with new 48IDFs. First with the Scat Lube-a-lobes need I continue........... I wanna have fun and my current engine just leaks and blow bys too much to help |
That sucks your car got hit. Sounds like you are building a nice mill. I am collecting parts to build a 2276 for my Black GL and a 2L Type4 for a bus. I will begin collecting parts for a Type4 for the Black Bug soon after I get the others done.

Sorry, I have been a busy beaver lately at work and in the garage.
Not going to be able to make Jax.... Wedding to go to :( I am trying to mock up some 944 seats to the bus though which might come out really nice. I just need to go to the welding supply store and get the right metal piece to make it work. Then I have been collecting car stereo stuff to create a nice booming stereo for the bus. I need one more part and might have it tonight. An a/d/s/ 12" sub. Otherwise I will just get a Diamond 12" CM3 sub locally that totally rocks. Still waiting on the Phat Boy from AC.net... Also lots of other electrical fun. I have been busy... Just not saying much as nothing is done. Later, |
