Hi,

What are the options on bumpers (required in Maryland) on Super Beetles?

Are the '71-'73 bumpers the same, or is the '73 a one year only bumper? (It is my understanding the '74-up bumpers are larger as stock.)

And finally. do the different years' bumpers utilize the same brackets?

68-73 Standard/Super Beetles have the same bumpers. 74 on have 5 mph bumpers with different brackets that have built in shock absorbers. The cut outs in the fenders are different for the 74-Supes/Beetles. I hope this helps.

Now let me ask another basic question. If one were to have a '74 or '75 1303, can the '68-'73 bumpers and brackets be used if the fenders were swapped?
