Master Cyl for a bus?

I have a 66 bus, early 944 disk all around, what type of master cylinder should I use? I was thinking maybe a master cylinder out of a 944 maybe one out of a turbo if it is even bigger. any opinions?

Ig I were you I would fit the 944 part, the weight distribution of the cars can't be that different and the brakes and m/c have been designed to work together

hey pillow, is there any special stuff i need to use the 944 MC on my bus, mounts or anything??

Yes, but just little things.

First you will need the MC mounting adapter that Wolfgang Int sells. Usually used to fit Baywindow MCs to split busses.

Second there is no brake light sensor/switch holes in the 944 MC as it is activiated by a sensor in the brake pedal ***embly. So you will need to "T" a line in the brake lines to fit a sensor bung.

Not difficult, but not the easiest thing either. Right around $50 worth of extra stuff.

This needs to be modified slightly to fit, the id of the smaller part of the centre bore needs to be increased in diameter by at least 2.1mm, mine was increase by 2.3mm as the outer surface had not been machined and was not perfectly true.
Having the bigger bore allowed my to modify the rubber boot supplied with the kit and fit it.

Paul

Good point Paul. Something I have not come across yet.

Essentially the Wolfgang adaptor fits Brazilian bay MCs, even the German bay MCs are too big and the adaptor needs opened up a bit.

There is plenty of meat on the adaptor so no big deal.
