BAS Exhaust clearence?

I was looking at the BAS twin muffler exhaust setup and was wondering about muffler to wheel/tire clearence issues. What kind of room does one need to be able to fit these mufflers in their car? For example, could I do it with my 17x8.5" wheels and 245-45-17 tires? Keep in mind I have 1.25" wider fenders and a 1" spacer back there too.

Thanks in advance.

I've got the BAS header 21152 and a custom muffler (1 muffler instead of 2 like the BAS) setup. I'm using a Dynomax Super Turbo 2 1/2" muffler. Its their corvette replacement muffler with the inlet and outlet on the same side. Makes for a clean, stealth install.

I installed the muffler so I had clearance for my 18x10's (ET 47). I'm using a 930 rear brake setup and this increases the track by 30mm each side so the end result is the inside of the wheel/tire combo has about 10mm clearance from the spring plate on the IRS rearend, and about 20mm of clearance from the inside of the tire to the muffler.

So with your setup, you will be fine.

I'll take some pics and post tonight.

Mike,
I have had that BAS header with the machting muffler set-up in my car. I have the wide 944 Alu arms, also with 1 inch spacers and 16x8 J 993 rims with 225/50/16 tyre's. The rear rims have an ET of 70 and I had a lot of space between the muffler and tyre. I - think - also you will have no problems, but every set-up and car is different tho.
Luckily the muffler set will be adaptable to your car and then you have to spot weld it to fixate it, at least with the 'old' BAS muffler 'kits'.

Thanks guys. Just for the record, I am nowhere near T4-ville yet, but I like to gather info. Of course, I am not afraid to modify anything (have welder, will travel).

Thanks again.

Thanks for the pics. It's nice to actually see what it looks like. Now I have an idea for when I do my T4.
