What's different about the thing ft axlebeam?

I noticed that Alex has a T-181 front axle beam. Why?
Is the Thing axle beam a better unit? Will all my Ghia components bolt up to it if it's a stronger unit?
Does it weigh alot more?
What about cost?

Thanks in advance.

It has a strengthened top shock mount. It also has a different front beam support brace that ties in the top and bottom bar of the axle. This will only work if you use the Thing support brace and weld an extra piece of metal under the pan. I will submit the other pics this weekend and they should be in the suspension gallery soon.
It give the front added strength and stiffness. I did it because I run coilovers on the front and wanted the added strength.

The other problem is that you have to find a good beam and parts first from a Thing for a decent price.

The Thing tie rods add strength while heavy braking with big brakes because the should flex less due to the thicker material of the tie rod.

Thanks for the information!

Thanks for the assistance.

I would like to use a similar setup on my Ghia.

Thanks again
