I think I fould a new engine for my GL

It has

Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm <<<Yeah, baby!
Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm <<<yes, that's 5 million lb/ft of torque!

Now I should be able to smoke Jake in a burnout contest!

Now if I could only just get it to fit into my car :D

Hello-

Looks like a Sutzer 2-Stroke Diesel engine... :-)

If you look carefully at the crankcase, there are ladder-like steps in the wall for each cylinder :-)

Take care,

Jake should be able to get 7.5 mil out of it. :D

Shad, you are correct :D

Do you think you could make some Nickies this size for me? :silly:

I think the bore size on those guys is something like 960mm. I'll call up ARP and get the head studs going, and let JE know about the pistons we're going to need. Let me know when you're ready to order. :-)

Take care,

Can I have them for the same price as 102's :D ?

Shad Laws June 24th 2003 12:34

No. We charge a premium for any bore size large enough to stick our heads through, and a double premium for those that we can crawl through :D.

Take care,

HAhahaaaaaaa LOL:D :D

Which gearbox shute work the best??? :silly:

Maybe a enlarged 901 5 speed?? ;)

what a hell of a engine...

vujade June 24th 2003 15:21

No I think that would need an upgraded G50 gearbox :D

Now we need to install a Stand Alone Fuel management and Nitrous Oxide in a bottle of 100.000.000 Liters and a turbo the size of a small truck, and than wenn you put your foot on the gass the exhaustgasses shout blow a large house away. :silly: :silly:

Meaby we are seeing this **** in 2 Fast 2 Furious 3:silly: :silly:

Hello-

Now we need to install a Stand Alone Fuel management and Nitrous Oxide in a bottle of 100.000.000 Liters and a turbo the size of a small truck, and than wenn you put your foot on the gass the exhaustgasses shout blow a large house away. :silly: :silly:

They _do_ have turbos, and they _are_ the size of small trucks!

These engines are able to get a BSFC of 0.278 lb/hr-hp. This is AWESOME! Not only is the 14-cylinder version of the Sulzer RTA96C engine the most powerful IC engine in the world, it's also the most efficient.

Now, let's think about this... 0.278 lb/hr-hp X 108,920 hp = 30279 lb/hr. That means that EACH CYLINDER uses 2162 lb/hr of fuel. Plus, because this is a diesel engine, we cannot use anything even near 100% duty cycle (must fire only when piston is near top).

Let's think about that one more time... 2162 lb/hr of fuel per cylinder (with 0.84 g/cc for diesel density) is about 308.5 gal/hr per cylinder. Now, at 102rpm, that means that 190.8 cc of diesel are injected for EACH revolution. That's friggin insane!!!

Of course, when your bore is 960mm, your stroke is 2500mm, and your boost is "lots," what do you expect? :-)

Take care,
